After the Fisher debacle and Billick seemingly going know place, it is time to reexamine other possibilities.

I love Mike Zimmer....I could live with Joe Philbin or Todd Bowles.

Chudzinski has done nice work and should get an interview...Mike Pettine should too IMO.

However, out of all the OC's Mike McCoy has peaked my interest.

First of all, he is relatively young and has a diverse resume'. He has worked in a variety of systems.

HOWEVER, I am floored with what he has done with Tim Tebow. I think Tim Tebow is a terrible QB, yet McCoy has developed an offense that has found ways to win games. He is not going to come here and run the option, but what it showed is he made unbelievable adjust in the middle of the season to try to win. To get what he is getting out of Tim Tebow is unreal.

He is supposedly very articulate as well.

If the rumor is true that we are waiting for the games to end Sunday to interview a coach, I bet it is McCoy.

McCoy was forced to change the offense to fit Tebow. He was very much against it because he felt it would ruin his chances at a HC job running a zone read in today's NFL.
John Fox forced him to do it because they can't expose Tebows inability to pass.

Those are the reports here in Denver and I think McCoy's offensive prowess is overstated.

In my opinion McCoy is an awful head coaching propspect at this point but maybe Ross will like him because he fits the young part of his so called beloved way of doing things.
mCoy hasnt really proven much as a coordinator why you would choose him over philben , denison or any other somewhat productive coordinator is beyonmd me

Can you elaborate on his background? He seems a little green. I posted in another thread that Jeff Darlington tweeted that, per a Miami source, the Dolphins like Chud, but thought he wasn't ready for a HC position yet. If Darlington's comments are true, I would find it hard to believe that McCoy is a strong candidate to get the job.

Mike McCoy Bio from Denver Broncos website...

Mike McCoy enters his third season as the Broncos’ offensive coordinator after being hired by the club on Jan. 20, 2009. A former quarterback who competed in Denver’s 1995 training camp as a rookie college free agent, McCoy spent nine years (2000-08) coaching with the Carolina Panthers, including seven seasons under John Fox, before
joining the Broncos.

McCoy, who also coached the Broncos’ quarterbacks in 2009 in addition to his offensive coordinator responsibilities, worked in a variety of offensive capacities with the Panthers after beginning his coaching career with the club in 2000. He had stints as Carolina’s passing game coordinator (2007-08), quarterbacks coach (2002-08) and wide receivers coach (2001) while also handling offensive assistant duties (2000, ‘02) with the team.
During his NFL coaching career, McCoy has overseen six individual 3,000-yard passing seasons from his work with Panthers quarterback Jake Delhomme (4) and Broncos quarterback Kyle Orton (2). He also has been involved with the coaching of four Pro Bowl selections, helping Delhomme (2005) along with Broncos tackle Ryan Clady (2009) and wide receivers Brandon Marshall (2009) and Brandon Lloyd (2010) earn NFL All-Star honors.

The work he has done to find offense and ways to win with Tebow is nothing short of amazing IMO.

I have heard that McCoy is incredibly articulate which is going to vital to explain to the team and public the vision of the team...especially with the crisis in confidence many have...

I am so torn on the young coach vs. the vet at this time. This could be a dangerous situation for a guy that does not have a ton of experience.

I am not talking about Dave Toub or Mike Zimmer who have not coached before. Those guys have been around the league, but I am talking about the Pettine's, Chud's and McCoy's

Jaws on Match Up this morning raving about McCoy how they have a simple offense, but always find ways to break tendencies. Make adjustments for the players' strengths is a great trait.

Mike McCoy is an outstanding coach and could bring in a sleeper FA...non other than Brady Quinn. Supposedly, Quinn has excelled under his watch. Interesting to take a flyer on Quinn if McCoy ends up the guy.

excelled at what? I haven't seen him play a down this year, what are you talking about?

According to Boomer (the FH poster) the Denver media loves McCoy. I mean he's learnt from some good people. Dan Henning (before he went senile), Jeff Davidson, and Josh McDaniels. McCoy is also a former QB himself

Beat reporters that observed training camp and practice. Take for what is worth.
