Mike McDaniel live in studio on the Pat McAfee Show

McDaniel has said.... he's a HC with zero wins. Love his personality but this media hype has to transcend into the team soon. Serious is when he's with the players and coaches. Can't come quick enough. I don't want our teams HC to be a social media magnet.

I do. This ain't your grandpa's NFL. Media relations is more important than it's ever been. McDolphin has done more to raise our "brand awareness" than any coach since JJ. Players at the draft all love this guy, over and over saying our interview was their favorite. Free agents will come and play for this guy. Just wait and see.

I don't. I just watched our teams HC talking to Florio and Simms. 2 of the biggest negative vibe merchants regarding our team. I wouldn't give those 2 the time of day let alone speaking to them. What's that about? Florio is a crap stirrer with Watson and Flores and Simms has skagged on Tua since day one. **** them both. I felt sick watching McDaniel having to talk to them. I say having because I refuse to believe it was optional talking to those anti miami clowns. Listening to Simms fake laughs. It was pathetic. Pure PR.
 
Good stuff there. Seems to be a real boom or bust candidate...either he'll work miracles, or he'll have us wishing for one. Exciting times!

I am not exactly sure what you mean by ‘total assume dude’, but I don’t think there is any shtick when it comes to McDaniel. He is as genuine as I’ve seen in a head coach and that’s why it’s so refreshing. I think the players will respond to his personality win or lose (to a certain practical extent).

Cautiously optimistic, but also realize that the hip cool factor only goes so far. My gut tells me McDaniels also knows this so hopefully his football mind is even better than his personality. Hopefully he’s a baby faced assassin as a coach.
