As some of you know, in my previous job with the Saints, I had a lot of contact with the players on a daily basis. Everyone always asked me who the nicest player on the team was, and without a moment's hesitation I would answer "Mike McKenzie.". He was always there for every charity event and always greeted everyone with the utmost respect.

Mike's 34 Ways Foundation did so much for the New Orleans community, especially after Hurricane Katrina. He's a class act all the way, and I've even had the pleasure of calling him my friend.

Whether you want the Fins to sign him or not, I can tell you Mike has plenty of game left. He's a competitor. He was actually ready to play at the end of last year too, and I can tell you from personal conversation that he was working out in Orlando, so he has had a fully healthy offseason.

He'd be a great addition to our team, maybe even moreso to the Miami community. And I can tell you, he is a huge Heat fan, so he would get to watch his team in person, LOL.

...and btw, just in case you are wondering, I hope the Fins beat the Saints by 40 in October.

I have always liked him, since he is a big physical corner. i think he would be a nice depth addition at the right price. can never have enough quality players.

great post

To be honest, I haven't seen much of him since his game has supposedly declined.

Seems like he'd fit with what we do, though - especially if he's the character you pain him as (which I'm not doubting).

I hope that it is more in the lines of giving time to think about it. I do not see why he would not want to play with the dolphins being that most of the players on the dolphins are like him character wise. Also will probably start and being on a team that could and can be super bowl champs now or some time soon.

Sounds good - another teacher for the young guys. I'm sure there must be a reason the FO is interested, and I hope it's not a bad reason (as yet undisclosed injury). Someone in the other thread was mentioning a favorable record against Randy Moss. Maybe...?
