As some of you know, in my previous job with the Saints, I had a lot of contact with the players on a daily basis. Everyone always asked me who the nicest player on the team was, and without a moment's hesitation I would answer "Mike McKenzie.". He was always there for every charity event and always greeted everyone with the utmost respect.
Mike's 34 Ways Foundation did so much for the New Orleans community, especially after Hurricane Katrina. He's a class act all the way, and I've even had the pleasure of calling him my friend.
Whether you want the Fins to sign him or not, I can tell you Mike has plenty of game left. He's a competitor. He was actually ready to play at the end of last year too, and I can tell you from personal conversation that he was working out in Orlando, so he has had a fully healthy offseason.
He'd be a great addition to our team, maybe even moreso to the Miami community. And I can tell you, he is a huge Heat fan, so he would get to watch his team in person, LOL.
...and btw, just in case you are wondering, I hope the Fins beat the Saints by 40 in October.
