Just heard Dungy will be on Mike and Mike this morning discussing his phone call with Philbin. I can't listen since I will be in a meeting at work but if someone else is able to catch it, let us know what he says.

It really wasn’t confrontational. Coach Philbin saw the piece on the Today show where I said at the end I think Jonathan Martin can play

but he’s going to need the right type of locker room. I didin’t think the Miami locker room was a good sittuation for him.

Even though he hasn't been good Martin still was better than many linemen we had on the roster last year on the line and is worth a roster spot in the nfl based on his talent.
As a left tackle that's a big question mark

He can play? Play what? I'm pretty sure they weren't talking about football.

Well hopefully Dungy puts a positive thought in some GM's head, that now may wanna trade us for him.. Wait, who's Ireland working for now? ;)

I CANT STAND Dungy anymore, can he freaking go away into a cave....i swear they act like he is god's gift to football. Screw off already

1. He's a a media personality

2. He has the highest winning percentage of any NFL coach in history (averaged over 10 wins a season)

3. He still is highly respected by many in the NFL

He may be all of the above, but he clearly was made J. Martins bitch in that fake / set up "interview." I wonder what Mr. Dungy's opinion of the situation will be once he reads all of the text messages between Incognito and Martin and gets to read the report coming out this week. I doubt Mr. Dungy will stand up and say he got sucked in by the Martin camp, and how was wrong. Martin and his "team" advising / representing him are the guilty ones. Really, what they have done should be damn near criminal.

I'm not defending Martin at all, I was just pointing out why Dungy still has an impact in the NFL....in which I forgot mention his extensive coaching tree....

Also almost all interviews of this nature (whether it is politics, entertainment, or sport) will have interviews conducted this way....where the interviewee will pick the questioned that are allowed to be asked, who conducts the interview and the overall tone. Yes it is a shameful that it is done that way, but much of modern media is about ratings more so then actually "getting to the bottom of it"...Martin in the end has ruined careers (helped by the media), I'm not sure what sort of recourse can be taken against him/agent, if nothing else hopefully Miami can as least be off the hook for his contract...

Dungy is a good guy to have in your corner BUT, he does tend to overreact to things that are vulgar (see his reaction to Randy Moss pretending to moon the Green Bay fans)

i don't mind Dungy...to me he is the soft version of the media that doesn't want to rock the boat. The whole interview was set up to be incendiary against Incognito....and with Dungy asking questions you could see the bottle of his moms breast milk going into Martins mouth, it was an EASY interview and he still FAILED to come across as a victim

That is everyday stuff for attorneys, thay can even switch sides and without missing a beat. Personally I don't understand how they do it.
