Mort said Mike Nolan IS under contract for one more year. The Fins are holding him to the contract in case the new coach wants to keep him on for an additional year.

So why did he clean out his office? I'd like to retain him for sure though

why don't we just make him the head coach. he seems to have a lot of the credentials we're looking for. defensive minded, the scheme will stay the same and he'll be motivated since he feels as though he was shafted by not being the interim head coach. i'd rather have him than someone who's dealing with the grief of a lost son (feel horrible for him) but realistically can this man rally a team together after such emotional distress? unless we get shotty, i think nolan would be worth a shot. our defense is nasty when really unleashed and under a consistent scheme.

Uh Nolan already failed miserably as a Head Coach with the 49ers. No thank you.

so have many people. everyone we're considering has failed at some point in their careers. we can't even get people to coach a south florida team in a big market. we're the laughing stock of the nfl, at least nolan knows his players and this defense. i'd take another 8-8 season than a "rebuilding year"

wasn't it reported that his was pissed off for not being considered for the interim head coach position?

Why make Nolan Head Coach when he failed miserably at it before? Why not try some up and coming coordinator and take a chance on being great instead of hiring the next fistpumping goofball.

Yes because there are no second chances in life right? Best coach in the NFL right now failed miserably in Cleveland.

Nolan has an option this year, and every year after. He's only under contract if Miami chooses to renew for another year, which I am sure they haven't decided yet. I don't care what ESPN says, that's the truth.

I don't think nolan wants to be a head coach again. If he did, he would've been one this year.

Just like Bill Belichick failed miserably in Cleveland. 36-44? What a loser. Glad we didn't hire him!
