I know there aren't too many Niner fans here but I need to vent. Not going for it on 4th and an inch yesterday was one of the most gutless calls I've seen in a while. I mean who would have thought that taking off the suit would make him more conservative. Your thoughts if any.

I like Nolan!! He aint no Saban though

:yeahthat: he definitely has them rolling in the right direction. i have some niner fans as friends and they laughed at me when i told them they'd be around 8-8 this year.

Nolan has that team playing their ***** off and they are in the hunt in the NFC for a Wild Card.

They have a BRIGHT future in my opinion. It shows, once again, that patience with young players (Alex Smith) is always the direction to go in...

He should end up being a great coach. Hes already far exeeded expecations. With that being said it was a bad move. Im not sure that was even an inch, the tip of the ball was basically on the line.

I was watching this game, I don't see how he doesn't go for it. As Jimi said it was barely an inch. If they coudln't get that they probably should have lost the game, which they did anyway. If they went for it, and did not get it, nobody would question the call ... just the execution.

Exactly my point jdang! All he had to do was QB sneak it to the left side where we were dominating and get the first down and the way we were running the ball we get that TD and win that game.

With a young team on the rise like that, Nolan has to go for it in that situation, especially with Frank Gore running out of his mind!

On 4th and an inch, you have to go for it. If you cant get an inch on a QB sneak, you dont deserve to win. It was a gutless call, and the wrong call. If they make the 1st down, they win the game easily

I know right? Get that first down, run off the clock. I was semi-rooting for the niners too. I like underdogs and man were people doggin Alex Smith last year. Plus I'm a giants fan so it spills over into their football team just a tiny tiny bit (except for the fact you guys smacked dan marino's arse in the super bowl).

It wasnt a bad call not going for it, he had faith in his defense and if they didnt get it the rams could of won wiht a field goal, instead of having to score a td. I wish he went for it too but it wasnt a bad call going for the field goal.
