Miami Dolphins center Mike Pouncey is beginning to gain recognition for his play this season.
Pouncey has spent most of this year rated as ProFootballFocus.com’s top center and on Tuesday he was named to the Pro Football Weekly’s Midseason All-Pro Team, recognized as the NFL’s best center after eight games.
Here is what the publicatino wrote about Pouncey: "Though his twin brother, Maurkice, earned All-Pro recognition from PFW in 2011, Mike has been the better performer this season in just his second year in the league. The Dolphins’ run game has been up and down, but Pouncey deserves credit for rookie QB Ryan Tannehill’s smooth transition to the NFL game. Meanwhile, Pouncey’s own growth has been steady since Day One."
Pouncey was the only Dolphins player to be recognized by Pro Football Weekly, which is one of the NFL’s top publications.
Cameron Wake, whose 8.5 sacks makes him one of the NFL’s premiere pass rushers, didn’t make the list because of Houston’s J.J. Watts and Chicago’s Julius Peppers.
