Mike Sherman, is he good?

Sherman's Texans offense was in the top half of the league when he was their OC. If you were starting a football team and had a choice of Mike Sherman or Josh McDaniels to be your OC(never mind the difference in offensive philosophies). Who would you pick?

I would take Sherman without thinking twice about it. It isn't that McDaniels does not know how to run an offense. He just seems like an extraordinary jerk in the Lane Kiffin mode. Not to mention, there is a website called joshmcdanielssucks by some angry Broncos fan. I know one of my old roommates was a Bronco fan, and he absolutely loathed McDaniels. Doing a quick search, I cannot find any reports of players not getting along with Sherman. I know a coach doesn't have to be liked to be successful, but if all things are equal, wouldn't you want a guy that the players liked?

One thing we can all agree on is that Sherman is by far the best OC in the AFC East. No question about it.

I would rate McDaniels and Gailey over him.

Gaily is a beast O-Coordinator. So underrated.

How is this honestly a question.

I would pick McDaniels 100/100 times and Chan Gailey 99/100 times over Sherman.

what has gailey ever done as an OC?

I'm not sure I'd want either but I'd pick McDaniels b/c he's younger and has had more success.

On that 2007 team they scored 49 non offensive pts which is a lot so that skews that pts scored # a bit.

Mcdaniels once ran a #1, record setting offense. I would rate him #1, Sherman 2, Gailey 3, Tony 4(since he has never really been an OC)

wait wait wait, every time someone on this board tried to tell you Sparano was concervative and an awful signing to be an OC, you immediately came back with, but but but he was an OC for the Cowboys when they had one of the top ranked Offenses in the NFL (even though he split calls with Hailey) and now all of a sudden "he has never really been an OC"

Chan Gailey is the head coach in Buffalo and so far has sucked at his job.

I'm not sure what you read but I have never said that, I have said Dallas was top 5 in pts the year he called plays which is true but I have never said that means he'll be a good OC.

spinning words per usual, but you did use those stats (only relevant because they benefit your argument as usual, but usually when used against you they are "fantasy" numbers) to defend the signing of Sparano and him never being an OC, thats a fact

He hasn't sucked. His offenses have been pretty good. He's been getting stuff out of players like Donald Jones, Naaman Roosevelt, Scott Chandler, etc. He's a good OC. I didnt say hes a good HC

Gailey calls the play, but technically isn't the OC. Curtis Modkins holds that title.

Gailey is 10-22 as the Bills head coach, pretty sure that is the definition of sucking. Dick Jauron, Mike Mularkey, Greg Williams, Perry Fewell and Wade Phillips all had more success than Gailey as the Bills head coach.

He was actually pretty good with the Packers as their head coach. Never made it to a Super Bowl, but usually won at least 10 games every season and had a couple playoff victories. He was just OK with Texas A&M nothing really special, but I know that quite a few Aggie fans were upset when the school let him go. I think his biggest downfall in college was recruiting and not so much his coaching ability. He certainly has had success in the NFL with the Packers, Seahawks and Texans, so I wouldn't be real concerned that he is going to flop in Miami.

Yeah i think he'll do well here, and his biggest downfall in college was taking a job at Texas A@M lol ...... cuzzz he was never going to get the top players in Texas , let alone the rest of the USA.

There isn't any spinning but rather a lack of reading comprehension on the part of some posters.

2 years, 10 total wins. he has done a poor job and his offenses haven't been good. They won most of their games last year when their D was turning it over verey week and in many cases scoring. When that stopped the wins stopped.
