"I walked in and he was just crushed," Gase said, "and the first thing Ryan said to me was, 'I let the team down. We're gonna be so good this year, and now I can't be out there.' I was like, 'Bro -- this is not on you.' But that's the kind of guy Ryan is."

Shows the true leadership of Tannehill who & I believe in & coach that fully supports his QB. Personally I am huge supporter of the Tannehill/Gase combo! I will root hard for Cutler but Tannehill is the QB I want.

I really want Tannehill too. He never lacked commitment even when we had the worst OLs in history. I give him all the credit in the world.

The issue comes in March, when we have to determine if his knee is worth a $18 million commitment

This is why I'm 100% positive he will be back. Gase believes in relationships (see Jay Cutler) and to date he's never said one thing and done another. Until he does we're wasting our time in the
Ryan is done here" threads.

There's a lot to be said about that whole conversation in general. Even Tannehill felt like we'd have a great year. I cannot say enough about Coach Gase.

Well...assuming he could(should) have prevented this last year, he's kinda right. Still believe in Tannehill and like what he brings to the team. Just ask Jets & Jags fans about their QBs.

However, Tannehill might or might not have to deal with the possible fact that we are gonna have to bring in more talent at QB next off-season...

RT is well worth the $18M IMO. Look at what other QB's are getting paid & going to get paid. Cousins is getting $24M this year I believe.

Totally agree, given the difficulty in finding decent QB's in this league, it's worth risking 18 million to see if Tannehill can bounce back. If we don't take that risk, other teams will be lining up to take it for us.

To me there's no question he'll be back next year. I don't see any legitimate reason not to.

It was a bad decision not to have the procedure done, and in a way he did let everyone down. But he deserves to come back but the consequences of that decision is more competition at his position.

If you watched closely how Tannehill has conducted himself since he's been here, that conversation is not really a surprise. He's been nothing short of a class act.

What was a surprise though was how much flak he took when those BS reports about insulting practice squad players surfaced. Back then this was clearly taken out of context and I blame the beat reporters for not setting the record straight. They should have known what kind of person Tannehill is. Just poor journalism.

Ryan was reliant on the advice he received from America's #1 rated orthopedic surgeon, Dr James Andrews, who inspected his knee. It was a partial tear of the anterior cruciate ligament which he and the Dolphins orthopedic medical staff took advice. As it turns out, the wrong decision was made, but in that situation you have to be reliant on the medical experts.

If RT never plays another down for the Dolphins, I will root for him to be successful no matter what he does. Unless it's for the Jets.

Having said that, I hope he goes on to be the MVP in a Super Bowl for Miami 8)
