DAVIE — When Mike Tannenbaum took over football operations for the Dolphins this offseason, he stressed that every move he makes is part of a three-year plan.

He never considered it a rebuilding project. His motto “win for today and develop for tomorrow” says that the Dolphins have the tools to win now and still improve over the next three years.

While he expected some highs and lows, he didn’t envision the plan kicking off with a 1-3 start and a coaching change four games in to the season.

But he remains adamant that the blueprint will work and the Dolphins can and will succeed.

“Certainly we had hoped and expected that we’d play better which we haven’t through four games,” Tannenbaum told the Palm Beach Post. “But I do like the nucleus and I like the age of the team.

“A lot of our nucleus, a lot of our good players are young and that’s the part that’s really exciting for me. You look at guys like Jarvis Landry, Mike Pouncey, Ja’Wuan James, Reshad Jones, Brent Grimes. There’s a lot of good players like Ryan Tannehill that are still young and I think the nucleus can be here for the foreseeable future.”

Interim coach Dan Campbell, who joined the Dolphins in 2010 as a coaching intern and spent the next 4-plus seasons as the team’s tight ends coach, believes this team has more talent than any Dolphins team this decade.

Read the rest from the link...but clearly Mike Tannenbaum doesn't know how hold Brent Grimes is.
 
If he doesn't say Grimes, what is Grimes supposed to think? He should have mentioned Wake too. We are going to have trim some fat in the offseason and make a strong commitment to the line. That means they have to draft, and not depend on FA, on other areas of needs.

He keeps stressing his "3 year " plan . Ofcourse he does lmfao .

Can we please get an owner who sees through this bull**** and makes a complete overhaul when needed ?

When you're talking about a young nucleus I don't think you need to mention Grimes just for the sake of mentioning him. He's not young...still could be part of our future but it's a lie to say he's young.

If Tannenbaum presented a 3-year plan to Ross how is it that the plan could have included Philbin? Everyone knew Philbin was on shaky ground to start the season. If you're true plan is three years then there should have been a clean slate to start...not all these rumors of the entire scouting department being replaced in year two, replacing the GM in year two and now looking for a new coach who will require different types of players most likely to work in his scheme....in year two. At least most of the guys they drafted last year can be scheme diverse...at least they have that going for them.
 
I'm sorry , you don't spend $114M and $100M on two players if there is a 3 year plan. Again, philosophy one thing, but the money doesn't match it. Hybrid building

Problem is does a real HC candidate want to come in only to carry out Tannenbaum's 3 year plan?

According to his recent interviews, Ross hired Campbell not TBaum. Nothing has changed with the head coach reporting structure, and that is messed up. Do not blame TBaum for the coaching problems. Blame hi for taking a job where he does not have the power to hire and fire the coach, but it has to stop there.

I really do not why Hickey is even still with the team. If I was Hickey, I would demand that I be able to be the GM or I would walk. What the Hell is Tannenbaum doing in this organization. He should have been purged along with the other idiots that were just cleansed.

Why not? His plan is to develop pro bowl level players at these positions: QB, DT, S, LT, C, and CB. Guess what. He has them except for QB. He clearly believes RT is on that track. He thought he had the DE, but he does not. That is a problem. He has a talented group of WR for cheap that should grow with RT. Looks like a three year plan to me. He just overestimated the development of players currently on the team. That is the coaches job. Sounds like a three year plan to me.

Tannenbum should have been hired to work for Hickey, not vice versa!!!
