Just reading the most recent article about the joy he got from killing dogs.... this guy should be banned from the league for life... I think his prison sentence is way too short as well... he should get something for the abuse and killing he orchaestrated with these animals... just my knee jerk reaction to the article, what a piece of garbage
 
Whoever commits a heinous crime such as that, should be punishable in the same way they committed the crime. Murderers should be murdered, so Vick should be drowned or electrocuted in the same manner that he killed those dogs. I don't care that they weren't human beings......

Some parts of me agree but in reality society does not doll out that kind of punishment for killing animals. I personally am not a supporter of hunting overall in today'society. Everyone does not view animals the same way.
 
I think the punishment fits the crime. I like dogs just as the next person but no way I can ever compare it to humans. If I did I would be a vegetarian and I love my red meat. Now if it was human I agree a eye for an eye.
 
Leonard Little is in the league still. Vick got caught but he's not the only person in the NFL who has fought dogs. What he did and the people around him did is disturbing. Society has a fondness for dogs. They're not seen as animals but more as family members to some. He would've gotten less criticism if he got drunk and killed somebody.

So society then becomes no better than the murderer?

If you are willing to kill another human being in that manner then you are no better than the murderer.

the guy put family pets in with these fighting dogs to watch them get ripped apart... he has some serious mental health issues... he and his brother are thugs, look at Marcus' past... and really society would be better off without them.... i'm not saying that they should be killed, but his prison sentence doesn't fit the crime in my eyes....Godell should be sure to banish him from the league for his disgusting behaviour... for the gambling and killing, abuse and corrupting these animals he should be spending the better part of the next 15-20 in a cell....just my 2 cents

Let's not get into comparing people who love dogs to people who eat meat. They aren't related

I disagree. One is a choice born out of an individuals own choice. One is a mandate from the masses to discourage crimes of abject sadism. Punishment for a transgression against society is the only tool to preserve a society.
 
Michael Vick is the poster child. Let's not kid ourselves their is a part of society that accepts dog-fighting as an act of machismo. I think Vick should do his time which is consistent to what others who performed the act of dog-fighting get. Vick's a bad guy and what he did was disgusting. Though others in the league did they just weren't as dumb as Vick. Let's face it guys who run into each other and smash each others heads in for a living aren't people who should be looked up for their intellectual ability. Some guys are very smart like a Kevin Mawae, Alex Smith, and a Chad Pennington. Others are Dexter Manley.

I've never lived in an environment that dog fighting took place. Though i've talked to some people who could say with certainty that it happens nearby. Society will always have thugs and losers. It doesn't mean they should all be locked in a cage for life.

Vick was the one that was careless enough to get caught. Be well assured, dogfighting takes place now, and, always will.

I will say to anyone that participates in dogfighting now, and, foevermore...You are a coward, POS. Rest assured, be glad I am not in charge of dispensing justice.

Dogs are loved by Americans. I don't hunt because to quote Ron White, "it's early, I don't want to get up." Though their's an ethical way to do things, IMO. PETA would disagree but I just can't see how somebody could get off by torturing really anything.
