“This is the time when you’ve got to be the best you can be,” Wallace said, via theMiami Herald. “It’s December. I’ve had enough time to get adjusted. It’s the time for me to be the player I know I am, no matter [what]. Just block out everything and play football. I’m a great player, I know that. It’s all that really matters. … Let’s call a spade a spade.”

Wallace has the skill set to be elite but in my opinion does not have the heart or Football IQ to ever become Elite. Can a body catcher ever really be elite?

I am honestly not taking a jab at wallace just really think he would be a deadly #2 with a stud #1.

Wallace is a good player..a great player catches the ball to win the panthers game...A great player doesn't let cromartie intercept the ball in the jets game..

I like that attitude. I hope it's contagious.

He doesn't seem to PLAY with that attitude.
I cringe when i see him catch screen passes and begin to "fold up" well before any defender is insight expecting the hit.
I cringe when i see him watch Cromartie jump infront of him and make that INT.
I cringe with that speed he plays so timid.

It's obvious when you compare his route running vs someone like Hartline he has lived manly off his speed. If his name wasn't Mike Wallace I doubt he would be starting for most teams and likely would only come on the field in certain packages.

ANU, he really stepped up yesterday. Dropping stiff arms on guys, breaking tackles. That's what we need out of him. That's what we're paying him for. He showed he could do it in Pittsburgh and now he's starting to do it here.

I'm not sure if I like the attitude, but I will say that in Wallace's case he pretty clearly can be a great football player. He just needs to keep his focus and be more aggressive when the ball is in the air, IMO.
