He did a nice double move for a first down throw and then drew the long PI call by beating his man downfield.

His problem at first was his knowledge of the offense and how it works. He needs to sit in the hole sometimes but I got the feeling last night he was in tune with what was going on.

The playaction is so bigtime for him in this offense and dont see why Sherman cannot keep feeding him the ball downfield on stuff like this? Use your TE to keep that Safety in the middle and Wallace could be hitting the big ones soon. I knew after the first 3-4 games he was having small issues with execution affecting his concentration but I think he will start to make some noise soon.

He looked good. Last night his route running was more crisp. He did a solid job and if he doesn't get tripped up he has a huge TD.

Wallace was good last night and was really into it. I like him.

I would agree that's his biggest problem as he's had more than one ball go incomplete -- where it looked like a drop on poor ball placement -- where it was kinda clear he didn't read the coverage properly.

Hopefully this will come as he gets more comfortable doing what's asked of him in this offense.

I honestly think that it all takes is a couple great performances he can string together, and his confidence will regain Pittsburgh form for us. I watched A LOT of Steeler games (one side of the family is 100% die hard Steeler fans), and I really enjoyed watching him (or listening in my case) last night. I think he may be back on track, let's hope.

that and the fact that we can't throw deep with tannehill getting sacked in under 3 seconds. they figured out how to keep tannehill on his feet and get wallace deeper routes. Wallace is about to explode

i agree, maybe with gibson out he felt like he had to do more this game. We definitely need to feed him the ball more. I don't even care if the pass is incomplete, just see what happens.

The TE's and yeatman help his long game for sure. Just praying Sherman keeps this line of thinking.

And Wallace did say many times the running game needs to get going and once it did, Wallace came alive.

Cmon Sherman!

He was only good because he didnt drop the ball. Lets see if he shows you something again when he is dropping balls left and right.

You have hit the nail on the head sir!!!!

Wallace played with some genuine determination and energy thursday. He knew he needed to step up to replace Gibson if this season was gonna keep moving and he did a good job of concentrating on bringing every ball in, which wasn't his skill before.

Small tweaks and continuing to work through failures eventually leading to winning.

It's called hard work and patience. Everyone needs to be patient.

We've <somewhat> addressed the OLine and started to run the ball more and have bought some stability for Tannehill. Suddenly and miraculously the QB has time to get Wallace into his routes and play action is working.... these are not independently incidental coincidences.

Wallace needs success, time to learn and develop cohesion with Tanny. He's skill set is such that he will never see 10 balls consistently each game. He's more like a 3 point specialist; isn't called on for a lot of PT but when he gets the call the team needs him to execute most of the time.

Wallace seems to me to be a rhythm and volume reception kind of guy that also has skills that can decide a game when used 1 or 2 times a game. But, he needs his rhythm plays to focus him for his 1 or 2 shining moments.

If you look at his complaining and response to getting more looks during the games, you can see that his performance is directly proportionate to his results. Unfortunately, our bad OLine, blitz pickup and inexplicable reasoning by the OC to not run the ball ALL combined to hinder Wallace's development. Notwithstanding his personal character flaws and behavior, it is what he needs to be special. Since he is on our team, this is how we must use him in order to get what we really need from him.

All of this points to bad management by the GM, HC and OC. But, it's finally getting addressed and things are starting to click for him.

THANKFULLY!

Think Wallace needs a QB who can extend the play to be as good as he was at the Steelers, how could anyone cover him for 5 seconds plus wit that speed? Our O is a bit more precision based and Wallace has shown his inconsistent hands from time to time. The key is obvious, put people in a position to do what they are best at, I don't think we have managed to do that just yet, slants and the like are things Wallace isn't good at, leave that to Hartline or Matthews.
