It's debatable whether Wallace is even a #1 WR. Between escaping a jam at the line, running precise routes, and using your body to get position on a db to make catches in traffic, the skills of a true #1WR are rare. Wallace just seems to be able to run really fast. Am I missing something? Couldn't Clyde Gates potentially get as good as Wallace is now?
if anything it just shows the importance of having a true #1 WR, a guy who can make the play even when covered, keep the chains moving if not the scoreboard. I think Floyd possesses true #1WR skills. Blackmon will just be long-gone by #8.
