will todd bowles JUST GO THE FUGG AWAY!!!
the hype this guy is getting is hillarious. he was a good player, had some decent time with the 9ers but isnt going to be in the hall of fame.
todd bowles. the ONLY thing he brings to the table is the big names he has been associated with like parcells, his college mentor eddie robinson, bill walsh. but he never got to move up with ANY of those guys in a significant manner. he got the finz interim job in an attempt to not isolate and disrespect mike nolan. they didnt want to give nolan the interim job and then hire another coach in the off season and then ask him to go back to being the d/c. that wouldnt have worked out.
our secondary is POOP!!! i love the fire under vontae he has shown in the second half of the season, but he is running on his god given talent and when i see him play, i see soooo much more that could and SHOULD be coached out of him. sean smith isnt improving. our safetys consist of one guy who makes a big hit every 4 games or so and the rest look out of position MOST of the time. so do our cb's. and thats COACHING!!! 8 out of 10 times if we dont sack the qb its a completion for the other team.
guys are always playing way off their man, losing people in the endzone, getting turned around by slick wr's and burned on quick slants. and in MOST of these cases i see flaws in how the db's are being played, their technique.
so what has the immortal todd bowles done to earn our h/c job? heck, even dc wasnt offered to him by any of his big name nfl buddies. eddie robinson gave him the shot for a time as dc/db coach, but that was college.
so what is all this HUGE and seemingly growing buzz on friggin' todd bowles? i dont care if players like him. players loved wanny! they loved tony! i dont care if he lights up the building when he walks through the front door, so did my waiter this morning at IHOP!!
the guy has been brung along by his friends. if bill parcells likes you, your as good as gold and you become "one of his guys" as tony and jeff did. and he takes his guys everywhere he goes. but you dont hear anything about bowles during game time from announcers, after the game you dont hear about the awsome job todd bowles did with the secondary in the game, how brilliantly he used his players in the game. NEVER!!!!
so, what exactly will be the "todd bowles defense"? anyone know? [not guess, but actually KNOW]. zone blitz expert? buddy ryan 46 pressure defense deciple? cover two guru? 3-4? 4-3? as a dc, what exactly does todd bowles hang his hat on? his db units sure are nothing to write home about.
as a HEAD COACH? what exactly does he bring to the table other than being an ex player and being dragged around by bill parcells and mentored by college coach eddie robinson? WHAT?
if anyone will actually sit and THINK about what he has accomplished, or lack of, you will [or should] come away with the same thoughts. what does he bring? to anything?
i believe the team is going to try hard and keep mike nolan [as they should], but do you really think he is going to work under his lacky? come on?
and todd bowles will not have a slew, if any, proven coordinators or hot assistants lining up to work under him. free agent are not going to line up to come play under the wizardry of todd bowles. this franchise is in the crapper and adding a ho-hum db coach as the head guy is going to do NOTHING to put luster on this team and attract top talent in coaches as well as players.
this head coach hire can not be a flop! they better find a replacement for fisher. there are guys right now like marty shottenheimer and brian billick, brad childress who put IMEDIATE respectability in the locker room and on the field. but, we dont to seem have ANY interest in even talking to them!! there are some great assistants in this leauge, guys who have really made a mark with their units [not just socially promoted by their big name pals] and boss ross better start hunting them up!!! we just can not flop with this coach. this franchise is circling the bowl and headed down the pipe........ FAST!!!
but, have no fear guys as i think he is going to be the next head coach. i think he was the plan all along if they couldnt land fisher. at first, i thought dave toub was the fall back guy but all this latest "i really prefer young, hungry coaches" coming out of boss ross's pie hole the last couple days is pointing as a soft shoe performance to warm us up for the todd bowles hiring.
dave toub is a hungry coach, but he is not "YOUNG". neither is zimmer.
right now, i would give anything for toub to be the guy with some of the names that are being dragged up now, and i prefer ALL of those guys over bowles!

I believe will end up with an all dallas staff Zimmer, Haley and Bowles. I think the dallas connection will actually have us luck up with a good coach. I like haley as oc and am willing to give bowles a chance at DC never at coach until he proves he can be a dc

I am not opposed to daboll at all. the offense changed up half way and it would be good to have continuity and a full offseason only would make it better. Just get two good-great OL and the problem on O just may be fixed along with a future QB.

Well its smart why let them take a guy unless we have an actual coach. Im all for letting Daboll go to KC though. Haley is a better OC

All I am saying is I could see Daboll staying. IF Matt Moore is under center again, I think Daboll made great strides with him.
