If it fell that way, I'd hate passing up Jaylen Smith or Myles Jack two linebackers who could really help.

Hackenberg #1? Did they write this over a year ago? That being said, I already feel comfortable saying Bosa going #6 would be the steal of the draft.

P.S. Fixed it for ya Roman.

Ragland is very good against the run, but his deficiencies against the pass will definitely keep him out of the top 10, maybe even the whole 1st round. Also, Sheldon Day, and O.J. Howard aren't 1st round picks.

Hackenberg is so confusing to me. He has all the tools, was all everything in high school, etc. He had a mediocre freshman year, and threw more INTs than TDs last year, and yet many places are still putting him in consideration for the #1 pick next year. He's going to need to take a huge step forward for that to happen.

As Slimm and I have both stated, he simply isn't an accurate passer. Allen Robinson and Jesse James masked that deficiency with their enormous catch radius.

I wouldn'r say James did as James had a down year as well. But yes switching from O'Brien's offense and not having Robinson hurt Hack a lot (combined with a lot of injuries on the OL). WHile it may not look like it from a stat standpoint he actually did start to find a groove late in the season once everything settled down. Remember they were also insanely late in the process hiring Franklin.

You'll vomit if you watch Hack vs Akron or UMass

Had a chance to look at highlights of James Conner from Pitt and he does offer nice size and power. Could be a nice fit. Does anyone know about his receiving and blocking skills? The highlights featured his running game.

Miami will have some tough choices to makes next offseason and one could be whether or not to sign Lamar Miller long-term. That could open the door for running back. I also see the team having a possibly dilemma at defensive end with Olivier Vernon wanting a big contract. If I had an early guess, I'd say Miami takes a defensive end in the 1st or 2nd round. This could be a defensive draft for the Dolphins if the offense comes through the way I hope it can.

Thanks for fixing my post Gonzo. Hackenburg has a shot going early as teams have no shot unless they have a franchise QB,,,,although I would say Hackenburg is not the consensus best QB.

5/16/15: Connor is a bruising back who has surprising quickness for such a big runner. The sophomore averaged six yards per carry in 2014 for 1,765 yards with 26 touchdowns. He had five receptions for 70 yards. As a true freshman, Connor averaged 5.5 yards per carry for 799 yards with eight touchdowns. He has to improve his receiving ability for the NFL, but he looks like a bell-cow back capable of carrying a heavy work load.

2016 NFL Draft: Pittsburgh Preview

James Conner, RB, Junior (6-2, 250, 4.86)
Conner will be a fascinating test case for the current style of the NFL because 25 years ago, he likely would be viewed as a lock first round pick due to his bruising run power. But 250-pound running backs with 4.7-4.8 speed aren't found on many rosters in today's NFL. Conner is one of college football's most productive running backs, coming off a 1,765 rushing yard season that earned him ACC Player of the Year honors. He rushed for an ACC-record 26 touchdowns and earned First Team All-American honors, just the third Pitt running back to achieve that status (Craig “Ironhead” Heyward – 1987, Tony Dorsett – 1976).

A smash-mouth, physical ballcarrier, Conner does an excellent job running behind his pads and attacking the line of scrimmage with purpose. He is much more than simply a battering ram, however, quickly reading blocks and picking up momentum off his plant foot to keep his legs pumping and finish falling forward. Conner, who is beloved within the Pitt program for his work ethic and leadership, doesn't have the speed or twitchy moves to consistently make defenders miss and create his own yardage with elusiveness, but he runs decisive and makes it a chore on tacklers to get him on the ground. Conner is the favorite to again win ACC Player of the Year honors this season, although NFL scouts are skeptical about his transition and role at the next level.

4.86 40? There is no way that is accurate.

It's a guesstimate but I would not be surprised if he runs within a tenth of that. This mock is looking at his stats too much. He won't be a 1st or 2nd round pick, limited too much to first & second down & offers nothing in crunch time when you need to get down the field quick.

Rotoworld Has us picking 29th.....we are getting lots of love as far as finishing with a great record in 2015:

29. Miami Dolphins - EDGE Shawn Oakman, Baylor - As much as I like Oakman, I would love for him to put his ability on display more frequently. Do not expect him to bend and turn the corner. Instead, look for ridiculous speed to power
