These are quiet times well tonight I have a story for you guys. Michael Deluca a buddy from twitter was at the Collectors Show of America and Miles Austin of Dallas Cowboys and Ray Rice of the Baltimore Ravens were present, apparently he was able to have a chat with Austin and he tells me that Austin told him he was real close to signing with the Dolphins back when he was a restricted free agent before signing with the Jets who refused to give up the compensation required to acquire Austin.

Michael tells me Austin said it was hard turning down his boy Bill Parcell. So there you have it, while we thought the Dolphins never try to acquire Austin it appears they did. I found the story great and wanted to share it with you guys.

He made a smart career move for himself. He certainly wouldn't be as good with Miami as he is with Dallas.

How is that? I see Davone Bess, Marshall & Hartline all producing as WRs for the Dolphins. Henne has no problem distributing the ball to his receivers, its the dumb mistakes and turn overs. Shoot Austin would have been awesome with Pennington in 08.

The one reason is that Tony Romo is >>>>>>>>>>>>>>>> Chad Henne. Austin wouldn't have had nearly the production here that he did in Dallas.

Agreed! Henne can't do the things I have seen Romo do... except that one time when Romo muffed the hold. We have seen Henne tuck the ball and run for no gain plenty of times.

so now Romo is responsible for Austin being a great wide reciever??!?

Miles Austin is an excellent wide receiver. The Dolphins would have gotten an absolute steal. He's big and strong, can make tough catches, works the middle of the field, has enough speed and size to hit you deep, and he plays all three positions. Plus he's a really nice guy. I think he's almost as good as Brandon Marshall.

But no, Austin wouldn't be producing in Miami like he's been in Dallas. Was a good career move saying no to us.

Bess marshall and hartline would probably be better recevers on dallas than miami for obvious reasons

This is why I like Ireland even though in many cases he might not deliver what we might expect on the outside does not mean he is not in there pitching himself on the inside trying to make it happen. Too bad Bill Cowher could not have lived with Ireland.

Austin > Marshall when you factor in this suspension risk for Marshall
