In a limited role, typically in relief of the since-departed Reggie Bush, Lamar Miller was an explosive, change-of-pace back last season, averaging 4.9 yards per carry.

Now, heading into his second season, Miller appears ready to take over as the team’s full-time starter, earning confidence from Ryan Tannehilland others this offseason.
While he’s ready to help a Dolphins’ reloaded offense try to put up more points this year, personally, he has a number in mind.
“My goal is to rush over 1,500 (yards),” Miller said, “and just help this organization get back to where it used to be.”

We have some confident players on this squad - hope he can deliver.

We have built an offensive line designed for pass blocking, not run blocking. I would be very surprised if he even gets 1000 yards.

Remember the last time a RB of ours made a bold prediction?

I would like to rush for only 1,000 yards myself, but if wishes were horses, beggars would ride. You've gotta have the ability.

Maybe 1500 all purpose yards are doable...1000-1100 rushing and 400-500 receiving. Personally I'd rather he set a goal to score TDs, screw yards.

If he plays a full season he will get a 1000 in his sleep. In todays nfl the run game benefits from the passing game the way the passing to benefit from the run.

His stats last year are very much like Arian Foster's first year and Foster came out year two to tear it up on a pass first team. Its not impossible he puts up 1500- just not really likely.

millers got a better shot at 1500 than reggie bush's nonsense last year about leading the league in rushing in 2012...

No back is getting that in our pass heavy offense

If he can average 15 carries a game he will end up with some where around 1200. But personally I think we have too many options in the backfield, and he will only get about 9 or 10 carries a game.

Bush had 986 yards last year...so I don't buy, "he will get 1000 in his sleep."

Bush would have had well over a thousand yards if he would have danced less and took a hit for short yardage more often.
