It is amazing how the oline (or our lack thereof) is being used as an excuse for Tannehill yet Miller is supposed to block for himself as well. I don't think he is a 1500 yards per year runner but he is much better than what we have seen of him this year and last.
I.e. against Buffalo we pretty much abondant the running game. I really don't know why. And if I look at the stats Miller had 3 runs (!!!). His yards/carry was 2.7 opposed to 0.7 for Thomas. Why we have gone completely away from Lamar I have no clue.
I've seen Miller in almost every college game playing for the Hurricanes. Miller was the first running back since McGahee to rush over 1000 yards in a season for the Canes. In between the two we had Frank Gore who is a 4time pro-bowler by now.
If you keep Miller running to the outside or give him the smallest gap up the middle he gets his yards. This constant forth and back is not helping either. Sherman for some reason has a hard-on for Thomas and I don't know why.
Miller broke for 40 yards twice this season and for over 20 yards twice as well. Thomas just once.
Miller rushed for over 600 yards this season on a lousy 106 attempts. That's over 200 yards more than Thomas on 107 attempts. Miller is also the better receiver. Like I said he may never be a 1500 yard runner but as a combo (rush/receive) I could see it.
The top running backs get about 250-300 rushes per season. You do the math with Lamar's 4.2 average.
