Milwaukee Journal-Sentinel expects Packers to use tag on Flynn now

If tagged, Flynn couldn't possibly be an option.....theres way too many holes on the team to trade any/multiple high picks

i think you guys are wrong that no one would part with a 2nd round pick and that contract for matt flynn...i don't think ireland would like it but i don't think its a deal breaker by any means either...a top 40 or in seattles case 45 pick for a possible long term fix at qb who the staff is very high on ie philbin if thats the case to me is not by any means a deal breaker...neither is the contract

If he was their target at quarterback, yes it is a big blow. Now not only would they have to give Flynn a big contract they would probably have to give up a second or first round pick. This probably would scare them away from acquiring him which takes a big option off the table.

Well he's clearly not worth that. RG3 has to be the choice if Manning is not healthy, right?

Lol at drafting tannehill with the 8th or 9th pick. TRADE down and draft him otherwise we got another ginn situation. Tannehill is not worth a pick that high. If that is the best option I would rather go in with moore and focus on next year to get a qb. As far as flynn being a big blow....he is not. He was an option but an unknown option. It is quite possible Flynn is going to be kolb! nobody knows. IMO, putting everything on FLynn panning out seems a bit more risky. I would rather trade up for RG3.

odds on ireland paying the price to trade up for rg3 i'd put at slim to very slim...if we miss on manning and flynn my moneys on it being tannehill with our top pick and rolling into 2012 with moore the camp starter and tannehill showing if he's ready to go from the jump...if not moores the week 1 guy

I'd rather draft Weeden, than give up a draft pick for Flynn. I think Weeden is a better QB and the fact that he is 28 doesn't bother me at all.
Less risk (and money) with a draft pick than with a a vet like Flynn who would be lookng for a lot of guaranteed money.

Then they can keep him. I don't think Flynn is as desired around the league as some seem to think

He isnt.. he is only desired by the fanbase of teams that are in dire need of a QB. And that is why Flynn is the most overrated QB prospect on the market. Not even Green Bay fans think is he a franchise QB and understand the two games he played well in were against the leagues worst secondarys.

i seriously doubt ireland is gonna bet his future on a soon to be 29 year old rookie qb in the draft...ireland who's already on thin ice cause of the qb position is not gonna bet his future on that play...you wanna put your head on a chopping block burn a top 40 pick on a 29 year old rookie qb and have him not pan out...off with your head

nothing against weeden i think he's a solid top 50-75 value but its gonna likely have to be a gm and head coach but primarily gm on very firm ground in the near future that pulls the trigger on weeden in the top 40 picks

It only takes 2 teams to create a bidding war, and the fact that we have Philbin and Seahawks have John Schnieder as there GM both guys have inimate knowledge of Flynn from there Packer days could create a bidding war.

Flynn is not worth a tag. I don't think there is as much interest in the kid as they think. Even without trading a pick, he is quite the gamble. Throw in a pick, and all of a sudden he is not that palatable.

Hell i am more upset that finley is off the market....he is a bigger loss than flynn.

If they tag him and want alot in trade then **** him and move on to the next option IMO.
