Milwaukee Journal-Sentinel expects Packers to use tag on Flynn now

It only takes 2 teams to create a bidding war, and the fact that we have Philbin and Seahawks have John Schnieder as there GM both guys have inimate knowledge of Flynn from there Packer days could create a bidding war.

that's right and who do you think the pack gm is gonna look for first at the combine this weekend...miami and seattle...hell i think seattle and miami are competing for two of the same qbs either flynn in free agency or tannehill in the draft...

I think we'll trade our second round pick for Flynn.

If both would still have interest knowing that the cost is a huge contract and a high draft pick, GO SEAHAWKS. You assume that just because both teams have ties to Flynn that they're going to be interested. It could go the complete other way and that would say a whole hell of a lot about Flynn. If i'm other teams, i'm waiting to see if Miami and Seattle are interested because if they're not....

if they tag him i think its very much possible...and we can trump seattle in that round cause we have the higher pick...no way though seattle or miami is parting with a top 15 pick in this deal though...ted thompson knows that already...if the pack was gonna get round 1 comp out of this it would have to be from someone with a later round 1 pick...cleveland maybe in the 20's pick they got from atlanta but i sort of doubt it given they have the inside run on rg3 right now

well we're working here under the assumption that at minimum we are in fact interested...cause if we're not what do we care what the pack does with flynn..that working assumption should be obvious but i guess its not

I certainly hope not. If we're going to spend a 2nd round pick on a QB i'd much rather it be Weeden
Not happening. Ireland needs to win now. He won't draft a QB. If the Packers tag Flynn he is coming to Miami.

and thats the difference b/t us and say seattle and heck even cleveland probably...ireland needs to win now...he has no grace period...and he knows it...

The only thing that could change this is that I've read that Pete Carroll really wants Barker when he comes out. With that said I still think if the Pack do in fact franchise Flynn than they have a deal in place with either the Seahawks or us.

Umm okay. So a team with really only 1 QB on the roster and no starter has no chance at drafting a QB? Good logic. And I like how if Flynn is tagged he's definitely coming to Miami. What if he isn't? Is it less likely in your mind?
Also, what makes you think Ireland has to win now or else? What in the last 2 years has given you that impression. Ross loves Ireland. That much is pretty clear. I think he's a little more safe than you think. Maybe if he makes a stupid trade and gives up a high draft pick and a huge signing bonus to Flynn that may change

3 straight losing seasons for Ireland. He has to win now and he won't put his career on the shoulders of a rookie.
