And this team will be no better than 7-9 or 8-8 next year, that is my prediction and I stand by it. I want this saved so I can bump it next year

Oh my gosh!!!! You're the first to suggest this! Can't wait to see your thread back in a year just to prove you right!!

But for real, just changing Sherman could be a major upgrade. Hopefully that means we could axe Zac Taylor too. Hell I bet Matt Moore would be a better qb coach for Tannehill

Well, if Tannehill ends up throwing for 4500 and 30 TD's, thinking not.

Alot of long balls left out there this year. Get this kid a big TE and an OL and things can start happening regardless of how much you think the coaching and ireland suck.

I think a lot of it has to do with the development of our QB. Working with a different OC and QB coach might set Tanny back, or spring him forward. It could go either way. But yes, it's basically a cross-your-fingers situation. We have a lot to work on, including trying to keep our D together, and finding a running game for the offense.

In this league you can be garbage one year and great the next, but that's for teams who have an identity, who have a good QB, who have good coaches, who find ways to get the best out of their players, and who can draft well. We have another shot at it this year.

I think u will probably be right. The fans will not fall for that and attendance will suffer. The attendance was on an upswing, keeping Ireland who is hated by the fans will hurt attendance not that he cares.
Im thinking of taking a year off from Dolphin football ( I know hooray some of u will say lol) Im just boggled how bad our owner truly is or at least it seems. The bad thing lets just say we stand pat and somehow go 9-7, you know damn well that Ross wont hesitate to give Ireland a long term contract like one year of success will make up for the years of failure. How many times has a team made the playoffs to only go back to being out of contention? 2008 things looked bright and you see where we are now.

The whole premise for me is the reason you keep these guys one more year is to see if they can do it together in year 3 for the quarterback they drafted.

I dont seriously think Ross will keep anyone around next year if we go mediocre again.

And I think your full of sheet Dlockz, you will still be here and you know it. Its maddening but its like your married to the same person forever and your not getting enough sex but you love them anyways and you dont want to hit the bar scene at 50.

the problem with the premise some will view it as a success at 9-7 next year and then of course genius Ross will lock up Ireland. Then what happens when we follow 7-9, 7-9 . You cant judge anybody by one season(maybe a superbowl but IM not excited about another year of Ireland . Im tired of waiting for next year and I really don't respect an owner that has let us mire in mediocrity during his whole 5 year tenure of ownership

In my mind, it could go either way. In reality, we face BB and Brady twice a year. If we were in any other division other than maybe Denver's (who beat KC soundly twice), then 10-6 is a great season at this point.

All four teams in the AFC East will be a tough win IMO. But it still all comes down to the QB. I just want to see my QB take it to the next level. Just think if we were in the Colts division, we would be in IMO.

You say we would be in but yet we were 1-3 with the bills and the jets. Im almost over it just have to accept that our owner will only make moves when the bottom has completely fallen out if then.
Reminds me how we kept going one more year with Wannstadt when it painfully obvious. This season has a feel much like the year we gave Sparano an extension. I personally don't see it getting better by just firing the OC.
So why does the DC keep his job. The defense regressed badly esp on run defense. How does the line coach get a pass? How does the GM that built this craptacular line get a pass? People say they don't want to hurt the development of Tannehill but a new OC could definitely hurt it just as much as a new coach. Screw failbin and lack of ability to prepare this team with playoffs on line and screw Ireland and his special ability to make the Oline worse every year. Seriously man Im just so sick of our owner and his lack of dealing with anything. I want to replace my coach but wont fire him so I extend him. Friggin Classic.
