Yeah yeah I get it, I'm a downer, I'm a pessimist and I should go root for the Jets. Bash me all you want, but the simple fact is that our O line has more holes than swiss cheese right now, and Bryant McKinnie @ 4 bills is better than Mark Colombo and Incognito put together right now. The dude would have came cheap and given us an upgrade at RT or LG instantly. The Ravens (a perennial winner... shocking) got a steal IMO and we're still trying to figure it out up front. I'm not saying Mckinnie would have solved all of our issues on the line, but he could have helped...Once again, I just don't get it...

I sincerely think that our head Coach and GM are more of homer that talent evaluators. They like a player for many more reason that his actual output or potential contribution to the team. Columbo is crap the last two yrs but he end up with us anyways just because "they knew" him. Fasano his avg at best but got rewarded just because...they coached East-WEST GAME and fell in love with John Jerry and now ???

apparently McKinnie doesnt' have the same desire to fix himself that you do to fix the dolphins.

Agree that the O-line sucks but McKinnie would have just made things worse....just fat and lazy, we already have Carey for that.

Dunno about that, but the Raven's FO certainly has a greater desire to improve their team than our's does... If not desire definitely ability... Can't really argue with the results there. You may not take my word over the current Fin's regime but if u don't take the word of the Ravens over theirs I really don't know what to tell u.

So the signing of Larry Johnson, who hasn't done much in a while, was bad b/c he stinks and is on his last leg. Yet McKinnie, who Minnesota canned b/c he got too fat, is a great signing for any other team sans the Dolphins. Just wanted to make sure I had it right.

I never said the LJ signing was a bad signing. I actually said that it isn't that big of a deal because I don't think it makes much of an impact one way or another. What I did say is that it reflects poorly on Daniel Thomas at this point in his development, the staff must not have much faith in the guy right now.
Mckinnie would have been a good signing because he would come cheap, he's obviously talented and we have tremendous needs where he would fit in... I think he would shed weight pretty damn quick in camp down in Miami as well.
It's also much much easier for an o-lineman to play deep into his 30s than it is for a RB. Don't understand why there's confusion with this.

How do you or any other of your negative counterparts know that every free agent in the NFL is interested in coming to Miami? Could it be that when he was let go that several teams contacted his agent and he told his agent he was interested in a few teams and the dolphins and other suitors were not on the list. Could it be the dolphins inquired and he wanted more money then they were willing to pay? I don't know how so many posters around here think that we can afford every free agent or that every free agent has Miami as their number 1 choice of locations to land. Its arrogant and childish for so many posters to rant because of these things. I mean I am seeing people ready to slit their wrists over Brad Smith and Mckinnie? Really. Guess what there are 31 other teams in the league and they get their shot at every free agent too! Get over it. By the way you and the rest of the oh my god we missed out posters do not work as talent evaluators or coaches or executives in the NFL so you dont really know whats going on, you just hear a familiar name and think they would be an upgrade but you really don't know squat. So yes go and be a Jets Fan.

There is a reason Ozzie Newsome has had his job so long....he gets it.

This move would have seemed obvious to me.

he weighs close to 400lbs right now and has been highly overrated at the position, I would rather have murtha at RT then mckinnie, if u wanna talk missed opportunities on the O-line then lets start with not pursuing devin joseph, carlos nicks, tyson clabo, or chester from the ravens, instead we brought in columbo who actually has played decent in the preseason but still we could of made significant upgrades to the OL in FA but we passed.

Really tired of this stupid bull**** about how I don't know what I'm talking about somehow because I don't work as an NFL executive. No ****, Sherlock, neither do you, but you know who does?? Ozzie ****ing Newsome! And he has more evaluation skills in his pinky toe than Jeff Ireland has in his entire limited brain. I guess he doesn't know what he's talking about either, huh? Calling your argument childish is an insult to children.
How about everytime you want to bust out your pom poms for this bull**** regime whenever they draft or sign a 3-4 DE or a wildcat quarterback, I come out and scream "HOW THE **** DO YOOOUU KNOW IT WAS A GOOD MOVE??? LAST TIME I CHECKED YOU AREN'T A GM YA JACKASS!!!"
This **** goes both ways and to be honest, being on the "negative" side of this franchise's boneheaded decisions for the last ****ing decade, I've UNFORTUNATELY been right WAY more often than not! I'm not the one that needs to eat crow!
