Has anyone seen our $6 mil a year Pro bowl defensive end named Jason Taylor he has disappeared I think maybe we should hire Ace Ventura to find him it worked for Marino and snowflake.

I think it's time to stop the hybrid defense and get him to rush the passer again.

ouch!!!!

The guy does have 9 tackles, 1 sack and is the reason for ZT's interception

I still think he'll excel in the 3-4. To be honest, I watched him specifically Sunday and he rushed the passer a LOT, but he kept doing the same bloody thing: running a LOOOOONG outside move all the way around the tackle with the tackle shadowing him until they ALWAYS ended up passing b3ehind the QB, then Jason would try to keep running around him and come back to the QB from where the left end usually gets to them. Essentially Taylor kept on trying to run around-the-world to get to the QB. At first I thought, oh, he's setting up his inside move, but then it never came. Not smart if you ask me, since it took about 5 seconds to run all that way. Anyways, some of this is on Jason, not the system, and they DID play quite a bit of 4-3 especially on passing downs.

I think that more to blame is the rest of the DL not helping Jason out enough. Truck was great this game, and Carter was good in the Buff game, but seriously if only ONE lineman per week plays well enough to be noticed, there are a lot of guys NOT doing a good enough job. What happened to Vonnie Holliday so far this year? I've not heard his name called at ALL.

And, by the way, Zach Thomas' interception came BECAUSE Taylor hit Collins as he threw.

Out.

Actually that is really the move JT does everytime. I have noticed it for years. It just works a couple times a game, but seems like most plays he almost gets there, but if the qb steps up its over.

Buffalo and the Titans double teamed JT most of the time. You can't expect to see JT getting a ton of sacks and tackles every game, but I think he has done a decent job. The pressure he gets on QB's is allowing guys like Traylor and other to make tackles.

He was the key factor in daunte's TD run!!!!!!!!

He lined up as the TE and the defense all flowed to him leaving the middle wide open...

its hard to get sacks when you are asked to play a diffrent position then the one you are best at. it is also hard to get sacks when you are asked to drop into coverage every other play.

IMO, its a big mistake to make him play LB.

...or not. He came out after the penalty backed them up to the 7 yard line

You guys do realize that teams are not taking deep drops against Miami? Everyone we have played has been playing ultra-conservative, run-heavy football. They dont want to drop back to pass, and when they do it's short.

Not to mention the fact that Jason Taylor typically starts slow, and comes on strong the last half of the season.

2005 1st half- 3 sacks, 2nd half- 9 sacks
2004 1st half- 3 sacks, 2nd half- 6 1/2 sacks
2003 1st half- 2 1/2 sacks, 2nd half- 10 1/2 sacks
2002 1st half- 5 1/2 sacks, 2nd half- 11 1/2 sacks

Except he's not dropping into coverage anything close to every other play. More like once every 10 plays.

Cant we just leave JT at his best position? I know weve gone to a 3-4 as well as 4-3 and we are mixing it up but does anyone think we are making it a bit complicated? The guy is being asked to perform and play at a different position and in a new system. He isnt getting any younger and i am thinking that we are taking away a bit of JT's forte which is pass rushing and running down running plays. I just dont think using JT at OLB is using him to max advantage. If anything it shows our lack of depth at the LB position.

 Oh great, now we have a person that has a problem with Jason...WONDERFUL

Forget JT, where the hell is Randy McMichael :fire: . Geez, Waldo is easier to find.

I think I read somewhere he's been battling a bad back this year

He has had back problems which have meant him missing some practice time but whether JT is still troubled by it i dont know.

UHHHH wasnt he the one who created the turnover INT to Zack.
