mistake I wish the phins could take back

I would've kept Allen.

Made some moves in FA:
-I would've tried to get Marcel Reece as our FB if we had known about cutting Polite. He can literally do uit all. He's big. Fast. Can catch AS A WIDE RECEIVER! He can truck you and he can block well enough.

-I would've signed some better linemen than Colombo. Probably O'Hara

I'm iffy on Ronnie or not honestly

what we should have done was not take a center who is really a guard in the first round, signed david baas or jonathan goodwin, then drafted ingram and then signed sprolles or still traded for reggie, but for the front office to believe that a guy who can never stay healthy and has never been known to run between the tackles is all of a sudden going to become jerome bettis is out of their minds, and thomas just started playing running back in 2009, he was a QB before that, so I think were playing with fire here and I'm concerned, at the least we should of re-signed ricky for insurance!

OL was the biggest need. We took the best OL available. I have no issues with that. To say we should have signed Baas or Goodwin & then drafted ingram is silly because there was no free agency before the draft, and these positions could not be addressed prior to the draft. There was no guarantee of a FA or season at all, so the FO did what was the wisest thing to do. That was pick the best player at our biggest need spot.

It was pretty clear to the FO that R & R wouldnt be back, so they addressed the RB spot in the 2nd round. They snagged bush as well which will be a great signing.

Looking back, the only thing I wished they did this offseason was really address the TE spot by chasing a pure starter.

I liked Ronnie Brown but I think Miami needed a change..Miami also needed fresh legs.. Thomas has them..maybe he busts out but it was worth drafting him..Also you have to develop younger players..There are pros and cons to every situation but I could see how they wanted to draft a young guy like Thomas and develop him..Cheaper, less injury prone...No bagage fresh start...Reggie was a guy we needed beacause of his speed first and foremost..

This.... Daniel thomas might not be the greatest back right now but he will develop into a very good running back if he has "it" which it looks like the kid has a ton of talent.

there is no way new orleans trades reggie bush if we had picked up ingram, that is a fact. The only reason they traded bush was because they got lucky and were able to get ingram in the draft, ingram is good and all but i wanted a speedster like reggie, we havent had any real speed in miami in a while. Ronnie had decent speed, ricky was fast in his day but not nearly as fast now, now we have both, a power back in daniel/ decent speed, both qualities ronnie had but alot more hungrier without the dancing and reggie bush who is capable of breaking out 90+ yard rushing touchdowns. Teams will fear our running game now, with ricky and ronnie, there wasnt much to fear, maybe a little bit when ricky touched the ball but ricky was a fumbling machine. Im glad we have moved on, even though ronnie will always be remembered down here in miami and always appreciated for what he gave to this team.

How about we play one game before we start pining over lost players.

everything that happen after shula

I think the FO made quite a few mistakes this offseason. Our QB position is questionable at best. We brought in zero competition for Henne and no young QB. Moore is an average back up at best. We all know Reggie's injury history and again we have to cross our fingers and hope he doesn't get hurt or we are looking at LJ and DT. The OL is a disaster on one side. We waited until guys were cut to add depth to areas where we really needed help like TE and OL. Our offseason consisted of signing Bush and drafting a C. We are depending on a rookie RB, C, a late round rookie at H back in Clay, and a mid round pick in Gates to provide speed to the offense. I hope it all works out for them. They have made some bold decisions which will make them look really smart or really dumb.

I like Ronnie, but he wasn't going to do anything behind this o line. It would have been a repeat of last year. The guy needs holes to get going and this line is not going to be opening many.

I personally feel they should have re-signed Ronnie. If they had confidence in Henne and had no desire to draft Mallett, they should have gone heavy on the O-line.

ok so what if Pouncey turns out to be Steve Hutchinson at LG, is this no good??? Do you think a few teams around the league would spend a high first round pick on this type player.

'at best'. The most overused expression on this site. Henne is an adequate starter, with the potential to be more. Can we at least wait until 3 or 4 games into the season before we convict Henne for the crime of dashing the hopes and dreams of phin fans. If he stinks this yr, then the season is lost and the new regime will aggressively pursue a franchise QB. End of story

Yes, the Ronnie move was a huge mistake. I thought this would have been a no brainer. Ronnie can be a great back in this league IMO. I hope we have something going and the FO got it right though!

I think you have to look at cutting Ronnie & Rickey in the context of the Big Picture ... which is Rebuilding.

Older RBs are cheap & plentiful. R&R wouldn't have been a very good Yards/$ Value with our O-Line now & less in the future. The biggest "tell" is they had NO Trade Value.

The FO cut them to clear Cap Space, to get players who will be around a few years, especially QB. (don't think the FO did so good in Free Agency, but the move still stands to help us in the future).

I think RB is a Net-Positive in Rebuilding, with Reggie (multi-faceted playmaker threat with speed), Thomas (time will tell, but they tried), & Larry Johnson (dirt cheap version of R&R with higher mileage).

I"m OK with it for a solid Rebuild move, but would have been estatic if the FO had used that Cap Space on QB, OL, TE, etc. this year (but probably next year.) You can't keep everyone, & R&R would take a Roster Spot of a younger player & a good chunk of Cap Space.

P.S. I love Ronnie & Rickey too ... hate to see them go, with a tear in my eye.

The QB position is questionable. That's why we have to wait and see what he does right? If it wasn't questionable we would already know that he's going to be solid or a star. So while not knocking Henne, we still don't know what we have oin him.
