Great article with a good quote from Mitch Meeuwsen.

I think we really got a steal with this guy. The secondary at Oregon State was strong and Meeuwsen played a big role. He ran a 4.49 40 as well at the OSU Pro Day. That is unreal. Saban could end up being a genius with this UDFA pickup.

"I don't know what happened," he said. "From all indications, my stock was rising right up until the draft. But I guess it's pretty unpredictable."

Meeuwsen of Forest Grove said he signed as a free agent with the Miami Dolphins, a team Meeuwsen said seemed to want him but drafted for need first.

"I'm excited about the situation I'm going to," he said. "I think I have a pretty good chance to make the team there."

good thread. I watch plenty of Pac 10 and I am excited about this guy. Given our shaky status at the safety positions, I think he is pretty much a lock to make the team. He really is a stud. If he was from a more respected college conference, there is no doubt he would have been drafted. He is gonna be good

And the big thing to remember is this guy was named a 1st Team All American by ESPN and was a semi-finalist for Thorpe Award as well. I seriously do think this guy will play a big role this year for the Phins and definitely a big role for the defense in the future.
