This is from PFF based on combined individual grades and not stats but, they did have us as bad last year.

Mitchell has been a very pleasant surprise ranked #1 of all DT's and NT's. He has been VG vs the run (+3.9) and pass (+3.6). To compare, Soliai is #8 +1.1 run, and +2.7 pass with 4 hurries.

The Dolphins are also #1, and it's ben a team effort. Trusnik and Jenkins have played very well, and he only one not at least average has ben Finnegen. Only 2 games but against two pretty good running teams.

On O, we are #4 on the run with a new OL, and Moreno out for one game. What a difference a year has made.

This has to make one feel positive about the rest of the season, but right now the bigger issue is whether or not tannehill will get his **** together

PFF sucks, fan eyeball tests are waaayyyyy more accurate.

So far so good as far as Mitchell and the run D.

I liked the signing but, he has surpassed expectations in replacing Big Paul, and then some. He is also relatively cheap at $3.5M this year, and $4M next year.

Great stat, but the one i want to know is 3rd down efficiency.

Don't know for sure but on giving up first downs overall, we are #8, and tied for #7 on average, as per the NFL official stats.

I think we rank up there on 3rd down. We have done a good job of not giving up to many.

Miami 3rd down conversions.

12-29 offense

10-32 defense

Thanks, that is run and pass combined. I think we did better vs the run but, not sure.

Think this does survive the eyeball test, our D in two games has played in the main very well. Mitchell and Jenkins have been the biggest pleasant surprises in the front 7.

I thought the Mitchell signing was a great move. He did a lot of things up front in the Texans defense that was overshadowed by the play of Watts. In particular he did a very good job of eating up two blockers to free up others to make plays.
