How can you have Tony Gwynn, and Cal Ripken Jr going into the hall, and the Padres, and other teams playing ball while it's going on!:tantrum:I just think this is awful planning on there part.

Why? Its tradition. I see no problem, and actually I find it a wonderful tribute to play the games on the same day as an honor to those being enshrined. Its been this way for a long time, and its a great day. I guarantee if you asked Ripken and Gwynn they would agree and wouldnt want it any other way.

Play Ball!

Bro I am not saying to not play ball on the day, I am saying not to play during the ceremony, that's all.

Ahhhhh......nevermind!:D

Actually, the schedule is set long before the vote takes place, correct...so unless the commish adjusts the schedule I dont see how you avoid it, or how you blame Selig for this issue.

But I better understand your point.

1982 Rookie of the Year
2 time AL M.V.P.
8 Silver Sluggers
All Century Team
19 time All Star
3000+ hits
2,632 consecutive games played

Yup, most overrated athlete ever.

yea, he revolutionized the SS position. but Ripken was really just extremely durable. he really only had a few seasons that were great. but hes was just good but not great for 20 straight years. and thats remarkable. theres no doubt he was a great player for it, but i can definitely see how he could be called "overrated" in a sense, but certainly not the most overrated ever, or even close to it.

I'm hoping Bonds hits his tying and go ahead home run today so the commish misses it. No need to honor Mr. Fathead.

Bro it is not like the Hall Of Fame Induction is something new. The schedule could of been set to play ball after it was done to pay it's respects to these great ball players. I am not a fan of Selig as the Commissioner.

FFIC why do always put one of these  at the end of all your posts? Just wondering.

Exactly, thats the point. Its been this way for a long time...they "honor" the inductees by playing ball.

That is the respect...the game is played while the ceremony is under way.

Selig, I could do without him I quess....but he hasnt ruined the game under his watch!
