this mock will be my first since the combine and will account only for the FA's we've officially signed so far.

Rd 1. Darius Heyward-Bey WR Maryland- i'm not locked into this pick, but as far as potential i think he has the most of the 3 WR's who are viable options for our number 1. I'm not a huge fan of WR's in the 1st round, but WR and CB are our biggest needs and none of the CB prospects are anyone i would consider taking at 25. DHB didnt put up fantastic numbers during the season, but his measurables are off the charts, he brings much needed size as well as speed to our receiving corps.

Rd 2a. Clint Sintim OLB/DE Virginia- he ran slow at the combine which hurt his stock, but everyone ran slow so i'm not overly concerned. Dolphins need a rush linebacker to spell Porter, and having a pass rush of Porter, Wake and Sintim is very formidable, and also looks towards bringing some youth to the front 7.

Rd 2b. Pat White QB/WR/etc... WVU- picking him in the 2nd is a little earlier than i'd like to, but i really dont want to pass on this guy. he's a class act and a winner, and he proved that he can play QB...as well as a host of other positions, many people have said he is purely a 'Wildcat' specialist, but i think he can be more than that, he has the ability to be an explosive slot receiver, can handle KR and PR duties and can serve as a backup or third QB, and to me that is just scratching the surface. He has too much potential and too many good things going for him to pass on him.

Rd 3. Mike Mickens CB Cincinnati- I like his size at 6'0'' 185, especially considering some of the WR's we'll have to match up against in Randy Moss and Terrell Owens. He's not blazingly fast, but can keep up with most WR's. Should be a good compliment to Will Allen in that Allen has the speed to stay with anyone, and Mickens has the size to matchup and play physical.

Rd 4. Davon Drew TE ECU- a solid blocker ( a must for Parcells tight end), he put up solid numbers in the passing game as well with 43 grabs for 695 and 3 scores. has good size at 6'4'' 255, but lacks speed which is his major knock, still can be a weapon in the red zone and as a possession target on third and medium.

Rd 5. Gerald Cadogan OT Penn State- our offensive tackles behind Jake Long and Vernon Carey at the end of last season were Nate Garner and Brandon Frye. Cadogan offers improvement there. he has extremely long arms at 35in and moves well for his 6'5'' 310 pound frame running a 5.12.

Rd 6. Nader Abdallah DT Ohio State- yes it is late to go NT, but Abdallah is a big body at 6'5'' 310 and is fairly mobile at that size. I've never been a huge fan of Soliai and i think that Abdallah can push him for the backup spot behind Ferguson.

Rd 7a. Zach Potter DE Nebraska- not a prototypical 3-4 end at 6'7'' 280, but is extremely disruptive and able to move around well. in 2008 he had 12 TFL 5.5 sacks, 7 passes broken up and 2 ints. Could be an interesting project player based on his versatility and unique size.

Rd 7b. Ronnie Palmer ILB Arizona- a very solid player, doesnt make a lot of mistakes. Capable of being a player who leads by example he has a good work ethic and is very coachable. Good in pass coverage as well as very quick on the blitz. Needs to work on his open field tackling as he often is broken down by more agile players, but is powerful at the point of attack and a very good at filling gaps in the line.

Rd 7c. Tony Flammetta FB Syracuse- i felt that Lou Polite really showed some good things at the end of the season in his ability to carry the ball, but i felt his blocking was somewhat subpar. Flammetta is a very strong run blocker, and is a load at 6' 245. put up 30 reps on the bench at the combine, so you know he is strong enough to hold blocks, not much of a threat as a receiver only catching 16 for 127 and a score.

i would have gone corner with the Pat White pick and picked White in the 3rd, but i think he'll be gone by then, and as i said, i think he's got too much to offer to let him pass. but i think Mickens can be a very capable corner, he wont get a lot of INT's i dont think, but will be solid in coverage and will improve our secondary as an overall unit rather than being a huge individual playmaker.

I am a huge fan of Mike Mickens i think he is going to be a great corner in this league on day. I think in the first round we would take Hakeem Nicks over Heyward-bey

Mickens is a natural cover corner with great size and speed. He’s fluid off the line of scrimmage, transitions well with receivers and positions himself to make a play on the ball. He has great awareness, locates the ball quickly and has excellent ball skills. He plays with a lot of suddenness and is always looking to make a play. He plays with aggression and shows the desire to defend the run. - Chris Steuber, Scout.com

I would rather take Nicks if we pick WR first. Out of the top receivers, I think DHB and Percy are the most likely to be busts. Sintim will probably go before 44. As much as you would like not to miss out on P White, 56 is way too early for this regime. I would also like to see a CB in the top 3 picks.

i debated a long time over Nicks and DHB. DHB does have that seemingly 'bust' package: incredibly athletic, middle of the road numbers, blew up at the combine, but at the same time you fall in love with his potential, essentially it came down to a gut feeling on my part between those two.

as far as going CB with the 1st 3 picks.... i know it's a need, but this draft just doesnt, in my opinion, feature many star quality corners, and i dont think there is a tangible difference between the 2nd and 3rd round corners.

as for Pat White...i was slightly disappointed to see him have such a good combine because i knew it would improve his stock...however i think that the fact he can play many positions will help him in the eyes of this regime. I'm not sure how much sway Dan Henning has over BP, but i think that Parcells is the type of guy that if a coordinator tells him ' i really want this guy' and he doesnt have any character issues, Bill will go get him. I also think that BP loves the element of surprise on the field, it was no accident that he waited until NE to unveil the Wildcat, and Pat White provides a lot of that. Another factor is that Buffalo has made moves to improve as well as the Jets, and BP isnt a fan of big name FA's, so maybe he makes his splash in the draft by giving the other teams in the division pause by getting White.

We can't wait until the 3rd to draft a corner, and we won't. Not only that, but I seriously doubt we only take one. Drafting a FB over another corner? Now that is cute.

drafting a corner in the 7th round is essentially like drafting no one. I'd love to be proven wrong, but can anyone tell me of a corner who was drafted after round 5 that made an impact at any point in recent memory?

i also dont anticipate using 2 picks at one position unless it's O-line.

everyone is wetting themselves because TO is in the division now, but honestly? BP has never really invested in a 'shutdown' corner other than Ty Law, but he is the exception rather than the rule, we emphasize other aspects of our defense and i'd rather have a secondary that plays well as a unit than one big name.

I'm not big on a WR in the first. I do like the idea of P. White though just due to the endless possibilities he could bring to the offence.

I think us not signing a CB in FA, and letting Goodmen walk points to us taking one much higher than the third.

Darrius Heyward-Bey reminds me WAY TOO MUCH of Ashley Lelie...no way I'd pick him....
