Mock Draft Part 2 - Electric Boogaloo

So, once more into the fray...and because it is so damn slow and cold here in NYC. Here is my second crack at a mock draft.

A few notes:
- This mock is under the assumption that Brady Quinn is not available to us at #9.
- I would like to see us trade down in the 1st and grab Ted Ginn Jr. and pick up another pick.


1. LaRon Landry - S - LSU

2a. Ryan Kalil - C - USC

2b. Drew Stanton - QB - Mich. St.
-I think he can be here for us, a lot of boards have him lasting this long-

3. Scott Chandler - TE - Iowa

4. Baraka Atkins - DE - The U

6a. Allen Barbre - OT - Missouri Southern St.

6b. Stephen Nicholas - OLB - South Florida

7a. Legedu Naanee - WR - Boise St.

7b. Alonzo Coleman - RB - Hampton

More Notes:
-I wanted to take a WR earlier, but I didn't see one in the first 3 picks that trumped our needs. When I got to round 4 I decided to take a TE over a WR based on how Cam ran his offense in San Diego.

-If we can score Kalil in the 2nd, that allows us to shift Rex over to OG, and hopefully Alabi will be ready for OT. Also, I believe that Barbre is the ideal late round project that Cam and Hudson like to work with.

Chandler could be there but he could also be gone...I like him tho
Atkins in the 4th is dreaming and Barbre in the 6th? A few years ago I'd have ask for whatever is that you're smoking but I quit....I'm sure there're plenty of guys on this board that would want some of it....

How is Atkins in the 4th dreaming? Everything I've seen and read about him has him going in the 4th to 5th round. On most boards he is rated at around #15 of all DE's...so don't come at with that what you smoking garbage.

Barbe did very well in the combine, but he played at a nothing program. He is a project and can easily be there in the beginning of the 6th.

Like I said in my notes, Stanton is the wild card. If teams rate his combine higher than his last year in school, then he probably wont be there. But I've seen many boards and reports that have Troy Smith going ahead of him because of his award winning year.

You make it seem like I'm taking Joe Thomas in the 3rd and Calvin Johnson with our 4th pick.

The Landry pick was before I knew about the Shaub deal.

And Ozzy does not rule, he's a soft whinny sell out!

Most of those picks seemed somewhat reasonable to me. Maybe a little idealistic, but you're blowing it way out of proportion.

I think it is a pretty solid mock, love to see it happen.
