This is my first mock offseason tell me what u think im not going to completely address every need but just a few. Pretend GM:

If I'm Zanders or Farmer I look at my defense and have to switch to a 3-4:

Resign :Soliai, Clabo, Grimes, devlin

Cut :Patterson, if u cut matt moore u could Create $40 million in cap space, restructure wallaces deal and u could have $45 million

Sign: Brandon Albert, Willie Colon, Joqiue Bell, Zack Bowman, Andrew Quarles, Brandon Meriweather, John Kuhn

1st RD: LB-CJ Mosley-Alabama
2nd RD: WR-Allen Robinson-Penn St.
2nd RD: OG-Gabe Jackson-Mississippi (trade up) give up a 3rd rd pick & 5th rd pick but get back a 4
4th RD: RB-Jerome Smith-Syracuse
4th RD: DE-Josh Mauro-Stanford
6th RD: QB-Tajh Boyd-Clemson-developmentol

I resign clabo because by PFF standards he improved greatly over the second half of the season. He would come cheap and give me the flexibility to sign a guard and a tackle in free agency then targeting a guard in the second round of the draft. If Clabo looks bad in camp? i sign a solid tackle that gets cut or make a trade for a decent RT.

I cut Moore because I dont think we need to be paying a backup QB big money. Tannehill has shown to be resilient & able to bounce back so unless moore wants a pay cut then release him. Devlin knows the offense and has shown in preseason he is just fine. He would be an adequate backup. If God forbid anything serious happened u could sign a veteran or trade for one .

Cuttin Patterson and Matt Moore, Also restructuring Wallace' contract could all create close to $45 million.

WR-Wallace, Hartline, Gibson, Robinson, Matthews
TE-Clay, Quarles, Sims

C-Mike Pouncey
RG-Willie Colon
RT-Tyson Clabo

DEFENSE:

DE-Vernon/Mauro
NT-Soliai

MLB-CJ Mosley
OLB-Jordan/Wheeler

This isn't very good.

1.) Olivier Vernon is not a 3-4 defensive end. You lose all credibility by suggesting otherwise.
2.) We will not be drafting a WR in the first three rounds. Bank on it.
3.) I doubt Clabo is any good next year.
4.) Wallace will not restructure after one season. That's just silly.

well thats just silly this team needs playmakers and i was actually gonna trade vernon but im glad your not the gm

Whats with the hostility?

A few notes. (For the record thank you for the time and effort).

1. No way we take a WR in the second round with Wallace/Hartline/Gibson/Matthews under contract.

2. No way we draft a LB in the first round with Misi/Wheeler/Ellerbe under FAT contracts. I know alot of people talk about cutting Wheeler etc... but the cap hit would be too great.

3. The 3-4 would fit this team nice, BUT Wake would be lost in the shuffle. Wake is not a 3-4 DE and also cannot play 3-4 OLB (0 coverage skills). Basically run a 3-4 with a all time OLB rush (Wake). In addition, Vernon is too small to play 3-4 DE.

4. Not a big fan of giving Albert a huge contract and the O-line is still sketchy. You take best OL in the first round and build around him and Pouncey.

5. You bring back Clemons, he is solid and should be fairly inexpensive. Not a big fan of Meriweather, makes big hits but that gets you penalized in todays NFL. The John Lynch type safety is dead and gone in the NFL.

I don't understand your draft trade. You have us giving up a 3rd and a 5th and getting a 2nd and a 4th back, that wouldn't happen.

I think Mosley will be gone by 19. Boyd? How about AJ Maccaron? As for RB, I d like the guy from Auburn Tre Mason or sign Blount from NE?

I like the idea of having Jocqui Bell down here. Great in the passing game and runs hard. Harder than Reggie so hard to think they'd let him walk. If he is indeed a FA, he'd be the guy I'd go after over Tate.

I also like the idea of going back to a 3-4 and having Dion Jordan bulk up a bit to fill an Aldon Smith type of OLB role rotating with wheeler and/or Misi and have Cam be an every down rusher

And I'd love CJ Mosley here. If he somehow fell to 19 it would be hard not to take him.

But priorities are OL. I'd personally like to sign a legitimate LT being that the good ones will be gone by 19. Draft the best guard if no

Keep in mind that we had a better version if Bell in Reggie Bush and never used him in the passing game whatsoever.

Which pisses me off to see him utilized correctly in Detroit when we could have easily retained him for a reasonable deal. Oh well In the past now

Bell is a Rfa looking at a second round tender, doubt we sign him

And you're 100% right if he's a rfa, can eliminate that from any thought process entirely.

How do you guys feel about Mcfadden on a cheap, incentive laden contract with little guaranteed money??
