Lets get those balls deep!!
I have never done a mock draft before, but I figured I spent so much time looking at prospects I may as well share my ideas. This way I can look back later and see how far off I was and how all the players I though we SHOULD have picked are ballin somewhere else. Anyways.
1st. Davante Parker WR Lou.- this is a popular pick amongst the fin fan base and for good reason. We desperately need a guy that can go up and win jump balls both deep and in the RZ.
2nd. Paul Dawson LB TCU- Our LB core has one known commodity for next season. Jelani Jenkins. I really like this Dawson guy. He's extremely active and is all over the field making plays. He could stand to add some weight but that's not too big of a deal. I just really like his instincts and reaction speed.
3rd. Devin Smith WR Ohio State- I am a a Buckeye fan so I am biased but I know talent when I see it and this guy makes plays. Wallace's days are numbered. The team won't accept him back and the coaches all know it (ok maybe not ALL of them). Devin Smith is what we hoped Wallace could be when we brought him in. He's taller, just as fast, is a long jump champion, and has hands that put Mikes to shame. Plus he can adjust better to the ball than Wallace.
4th. Ladarius Gunter CB the U- He's tall and moves well, if trained up properly could be a great CB opposite Grimes. I was pretty tempted to go with David Cobb here but I think cb is a bigger need right now. Cobb would be a great goalline back for us though. We need someone like that as well.
5th. Laken Tomlinson OG Duke- He's big, hes very athletic, but he's seen as untested and will likely drop. He may not drop this far though.
6th. Adrian Amos Safety PSU- He's athletic, and underrated. Could be good player in a year or two.
7th. Kenny Williams RB Texas Tech- He was their leading rusher, but he was so punishing they put him in at LB! Sold! But he's only 5'9" so he should be a RB for sure. He can at least be competition for the 3rd back spot. He's physical enough to fit what we need.
Tell me what you think!
