A few things that stand out from Pro Football Focus' analysis of the Dolphins-Bills debacle and a couple other items:

### PFF gave an unspeakably bad grade to right guard Jamil Douglas (a minus 8.9). Can't remember seeing a grade that poor for an individual performance in a Dolphins game. He allowed six QB hurries and two hits.

The other guard, Dallas Thomas, was given a minus 2.9 and allowed three hurries. The Dolphins' guard play has been consistently substandard through three games. What else is new?

### The gruesome numbers on the Dolphins pass defense: As poor as the defensive backs were, the linebackers were also atrocious in coverage. Kelvin Sheppard allowed the one pass thrown against him to be caught for 24 yards. Koa Misi, beaten by Charles Clay, allowed 3 of 4 to be caught for 53 yards....

Among cornerbacks, Brice McCain allowed 6 of 10 to be caught for 100 yards, Jamar Taylor 3 of 4 for 49 yards (that includes the Chris Hogan TD where Walt Aikens was out of position), Brent Grimes 3 of 3 for 14 yards and Zack Bowman 1 for 1 for 12 yards.

### Bill Lazor distributed receiver snaps by giving 60 (of 78) to Jarvis Landry, and in the 40s for everyone else: Greg Jennings (47, probably too many), Kenny Stills (41), DeVante Parker (42) and Rishard Matthews (40).

### Jonas Gray and Damien Williams each had 16 snaps behind Lamar Miller (44).

### Defensively, Cam Wake played 40 of the 65 defensive snaps, Olivier Vernon 41, Derrick Shelby 33 and Terrence Fede 24. Among d-tackles, Ndamukong Suh played 52, Earl Mitchell 37, CJ Mosley 21 and AJ Francis 11.

### Kevin Coyle went back to splitting time at middle linebacker, with Sheppard getting 26 snaps and Zach Vigil 15.

### For the second straight week, Chris McCain played just one defensive snap.

### At cornerback, Brent Grimes played 65, Jamar Taylor 42, Brice McCain 47 and Bowman 3. Michael Thomas got more safety snaps than Walt Aikens (40 to 24).

### PFF graded Brice McCain and Olivier Vernon worst among defensive players.

### What about that vaunted Dolphins d-line? Miami has one sack, tied with the Giants for fewest in the league. And only Cleveland has allowed more rushing yards than Miami's 435.

### Overall, the Dolphins' defense ranks 26th in yards allowed, 391 per game.

### The Dolphins' offense ranks 27th in points per game (just 17,0).

Whew. I can't quite fathom this, with the "talent" that's on this roster, that they could play so poorly. I don't feel like the situation is hopeless, that the cupboard is bare, but those numbers are pretty damning.
That being said, I think the Dolphins head coaching job will be a highly coveted one in the off-season. An arguably decent QB at the helm, and talent in places. Any coach has got to figure that in three years they can get this team into the playoffs.

The players have mentally check out. Their words mean nothing. An expansion team would have beaten them yesterday. They just don't seem to care and that's why it's difficult to analyze.

Boy is OV earning that new contract or what??

You know what pisses off players even more than not being utilized correctly? Not being utilized correctly when you're trying to get PAID for the first time. Expect lots of pouty face from OV, Miller, and Stills the rest of the season.

I found one of the last tidbits very interesting...

" Billionaire Warren Buffett, a personal friend of Ndamukong Suh, was on the Dolphins’ sideline before the game wearing a Suh jersey and shoulder pads.

I feel the same way. This team has holes, but we are closer talent wise. Just need to get the oline and LB's fixed.
Getting a new coaching staff is the biggest change that is needed.

We can only hope but really, we're just setting ourselves up for disappointment by trying to see more to this than there is.

That being said, Ross did stay in South Florida overnight...maybe they've begun trying to hammer out a deal.

Miller is a keeper. OV and Stills are average players. If they want more money, hit the road.
OV cannot set the edge or dominate his player.
Stills cannot even crack the starting line up.
Miller has shown improvement and rushed for over 1000 yards, with a couple long TD's. He is a good player.

I didn't mean it that way, but damn that would be the ultimate pie in the sky scenario.

I meant the other players might not exactly have warm and fuzzy feelings about this.

Monday morning buzz hardest hit delivered by person wearing Dolphins uniform on Sunday was a head butt by Miko Grimes.

I am happy to see that Suh had a good game. At least someone out there is trying.

I'll remind anyone who is pleased to see our top WR as Matthews that he has routinely been chucked to the bench by this team and he is a free agent at year's end. If you think he will be kind to this team after posting a big season, you are sorely mistaken.

I'm willing to overlook Douglas' bad game as he is a rookie and the Bills are a solid team. Dallas Thomas though NEEDS TO BE BENCHED. My goodness, when is this failed experiment going to end?

Most important thought I have while reading this? It's not worth it to even scan what the talent on this team did when they were routinely held in check by bland gameplans from both Lazor and Coyle. There is no way that any person, even Superman, could turn a short side of the field, with a screen pass, without a talented offensive line, against a team coached way better than yours, and turn it into ANYTHING.

Can we bump those that said guard play did not matter much? Such a miss this offseason.

To add insult to injury, Incog is the highest rated guard in the league at the moment.

About what? That by having Buffett own the Phins it would effectively Suh owning the Phins? Lol, where's the problem in that?
