Per sources, Eugene Monroe is unlikely to return to the Ravens. Contract talks between Monroe and the Ravens have reached a standstill

Per a source, Monroe wants a long-term deal that averages around $10M annually. The Ravens want him for closer to $8M or $9M per year

i'm sure they have after the raiders put out that 5 years $55 mil number on veldheer...

Yeah, so much for my injury concerns. lol

I have to wonder how many teams take what Oakland does seriously?

i believe Philbin wanted to pay fat Albert last year but was overruled. No way we don't land one of the three top free agent LT talents what ever the cost.
Bite the bullet. Pay the price and protect your quarterback.

Dolphins, I assume, would pay Monroe $10mil/yr. Question is guaranteed $. Probably three strong guaranteed years, 4th Fins could get out of.

i'd like to know how this guy graded out with jax cause i sure didnt see anything awesome with awesome sauce about him when he was there and i watched jax...forget with baltimore for 11 weeks how bout his prior seasons in jax...

McKinney probably hates this guy. Always after his job :chuckle:

Wasn't the new asst line coach Bricknell Albert's mentor in KC before he went to Pitts ? hummm

Fish are you ok with paying Albert this much money?....

Albert aiming for something in the neighborhood of the five-year, $51.3 million deal that 32-year-old left tackle Jason Peters just received from Philadelphia.

Albert battled through an assortment of injuries last season and missed four games (as well as parts of several more), but he still would represent a massive upgrade at the position for many teams. Albert posted a Pro Football Focus grade of 10.0 in 2013, which ranked 28th among all 76 tackles who played at least 25 percent of their teams’ offensive snaps.

I think at that time he was like 55th rated tackle in the NFL... Yup, let's throw crazy money at a middle of the pack not so great run blocking left tackle.. Seems legit :bobdole:

This was the key issue that led to the falling out between Ireland and Philbin, who didn't want to rely on J-mart as his LT. Ironically, Martin, Incognito, Ireland, Sherman and O'Neill would probably still be with the team if Ireland hadn't been such a prick and acquired Brandon Albert. Life all comes down to a few key moments. Jeff has a lot more time with the family now (lucky wife and kids).

The Carroll County Times reports free agent LT Eugene Monroe is seeking $10 million per year.
Per beat writer Matt Zenitz, the Ravens are offering Monroe $8 million to $9 million per year. So there's a decent-sized gap to be bridged before next Tuesday's start of free agency. GM Ozzie Newsome surrendered 2014 fourth- and fifth-round picks when he acquired Monroe via Jacksonville last October. If Monroe hits the market, the Dolphins are expected to pursue him aggressively.

Where they stand: The biggest hole on the team is offensive tackle. Monroe and Oher, the Ravens' starting tackles from last season, are both unrestricted free agents. The Ravens want to get bigger on the interior of the offensive line, which indicates they want to upgrade from center Gino Gradkowski

What to expect: With $26 million in salary-cap space, the Ravens need to get a left tackle, center, wide receiver, middle linebacker and free safety in free agency. Baltimore is trying hard to keep Monroe and Smith before free agency begins. If the Ravens fail to retain Monroe, left tackle has to be the focus early in free agency. The contingency plan is to either re-sign Oher (which isn't ideal because he's better at right tackle) or move Kelechi Osemele from left guard to left tackle.
The options at center aren't as appealing after Cleveland put the transition tag on Alex Mack. The other free-agent centers are 20-something and middle of the road: Green Bay's Evan Dietrich-Smith, New Orleans' Brian De La Puente and New England's Ryan Wendell

When the Dolphins reach out to free agent left tackle Eugene Monroe's representation this weekend, they'll quickly get an idea of how much it will take to sign him. Per reports in Baltimore, Monroe is seeking a deal averaging $10 million a year. The Ravens have offered between $8 million and $9 million.
