Mariucci said that Detroit can`t win with Harrington as QB, but he had to play because they invested so much in him. Excuse me?? He`s supposed to have authority to put the best QB in the game, not the one GM, owner or someone else tells you.

It pushed Harrington out only after he said he had no interest in staying and after he offended coach Rod Marinelli and offensive coordinator Mike Martz -- both of whom embraced the guy when they joined the Lions in the offseason. Oddly, Martz could have been the best thing that happened to Harrington, but the quarterback will never know.

Why does he think Martz is better than Mularkey?

I`m not on Joe Harrington bandwagon, but to defend Detroit there is nonesence. They are losers and they always will be, with Harrington and without.

Everyone will have an opinion on the matter, but the general consensus is that the Lions are idiots.

Could it be that Martz is a proven offense genius while Mularkey was good with the Steelers, but horrible with the Bills?

Mularkey was not the OC of the Bills. You could say Martz was awful as a HC as well. Both are quality OCs.

The pressure of being a top rated #3 pick in the draft is huge. Nobody wants admit they were wrong if things don't pan out.

Mularkey was quite good with Steelers, and horrible with the Bills, but as HC, not OC! He will be a good OC here too. And it was quite certain that Harrinton didn`t have the future in Detroit, not even if they had the best OC in NFL.

Judge Clarck obviously doesn`t think so.

That front office might be the worst in professional sports.

No, the NY Knicks hold the edge in total idiocy, but the Lions are close, and until recently the AZ Cardinals (but they seem to have changed for the better).

Other Dishonorable mentions : Milwaukee Brewers, New Orleans Saints, and Tampa Bay Devil Rays.

I know both are/will be quality OCs, I was just saying the fact the Martz is somewhat proven (SB as OC) and everything, may be why people think he is better than Mularky.

It's kind of funny, though, that people always say how Martz was one of the best OCs, but don't realize he was only a OC for one year.

Another Harrington story where his coaches and teammates are talking badly about his leadership, character, or performance or whatever.

He just has to hold ship untl Daunte comes in. If we need him for any longer, he better show us why he deserved early #1 pick years ago or the bust label will follow. He has new life here and hopefully will excel if Daunte is out longer than expected.

He is an easy target b/c as of now he hasn't lived up to expectations. But who could when you are labeled a savior walking into that crappy franchise.

You can't say Mularkey is better with offenses and QB's than Martz. Nice to show your fin spirit, but it isn't true

I agree. He didn't exactly fix that Bills offense (And yes, people, I know that he was the HC, but last time I checked, he had the power to change things in the offense).

Noone said that. But you also can`t say that Martz is better with offenses and QB`s than Mularkey. And that`s what Clarck said.

And Martz did terrible things in St. Louis with their offense. They had much more potential than Bills offense.
