2007 had a ton of holes and fixing QB position, while solidifying just a couple other areas, allowed us to be division winners the next year. Atlanta was terrible the year before they got Matt Ryan.
Don't underestimate what a real QB can do to change a team's fortunes. Once a team wins once or twice because of the QB making plays, they will start making plays themselves. But this team has seen the opposite; they saw the QB position lose games for them repeatedly, and all the franchise did was stand pat in that area, so where is the team's belief in winning supposed to come from? They've all paid lip service to Henne, but every one of them remembers how he's choked away chances at wins.
The big thing is, we can find at least marginal improvements for deficiencies besides QB on the market. But you don't find QB's on the open market, and that's why in spite of my seeming support for Moore here, if this franchise fails to draft a real QB because of Moore, Henne, or anyone else, I may have had enough.
