One thing that immediatly eliminated Mora Jr off my personal list was a game last year in which the Falcons were on a losing streak, and at the end of a game in which the outcome was just decided in favor of the other team, Mora dropped to his knees and looked at the ground with his shoulders slumped. This is not the metality of a head coach. I dont care how much time was left, or how many games were left; the head coach should never portray this body language to his team. A team is a representation of the head coach, and vice versa. Although Saban is hated, he was the first coach in a long time to win in December and got the players to play a full game and play tough in the 4th quater. We never blew a game like the Jets game on Monday night and actually had comebacks with the best being the Chambers-Buffalo game. I dont think Mora has the mental toughness to be a leader of a team. Granted Im going on very limited knowledge, but a head coach that shows physical and mental defeat the way Mora did is not the General that I want in control of this team. I dont mind if Mora wears his emotions on his sleeve, but that shows a lack of pride and inferiority.

PS - I appologize for not having this picture available, but I googled it and could only find "happy" pictures of Mora. If someone has the one Im talking about, feel free to post it.

I really don't have any problem with what you say. But I've got to believe that there must of been thousands of Falcon fans who did the exact same thing that Mora Jr. did. You look at it as a lack of pride. I look at it as just a human reaction. And not saying i want Mora Jr. as our coach but i am sick and tired of these coaches that we have had for a while that come off like we owe them something. (Saban, Jimmy Johnson ). I would rather have a coach who does wear his feelings on his sleeve. A coach who reacts like the fans. I want a coach who has disappointment and shows it . Not like Saban who kept saying the team is getting better as we were losing to teams that we should of beaten. Just my Opinon.

Not to mention Mora's $25,000 fine for using a cell phone on the sidelines. What in the name of ... was that? I know I dont want to be in battle with a guy who is on his cell phone looking for help during a game. I would lose all faith in that guy.

Well I agree with everything you said int his post except that your title reads: Mora a good coordinator, not a Filed General. You go to explain why he is not a good field general and I agree but how does this make him qualified as a coordinator? In my opinion, he is not suited for either job. He hasn't had any success-in fact his record in other coaching positions is pretty awful- as a coach in any capacity. I am totally baffled as to why Mora is even being considered as a candidate. quite frankly, he seems to be getting by because he is well liked. I have listened to him on numerous occasions and, yes, he does seem pleasant. He also has a reputation as being good with the media, but who really cares? Does that win you games? Does this improve your team? Bill Bellichek is notorious for how he treats his players and the media and look at the success he has had with the Patriots. In fact, if you look at most sports, it's the coaches who run a tight ship, all business, keep information close to the vest, are ruthless and have a single minded mentality of winning that do best. Just thinking off the top of my head, Scotty Bowman (HC for Montreal Canadiens in the 70s), Pittsburgh Penguins in the 90s and Detroit Red Wings in 90s won multiple Stanley Cups with each team, and basically created two dynastys in the process. Players hated the man. The media couldn't stand him. He could be ruthless, demanding full commitment and then cutting you as soon as you had no value. That is the type of head coach I want. I thought we had this with Saban. Saban may have left in a despicable manner but I actually appreciated a lot of things he did in Miami and, had he not done what he did in the last month here, would have been mor ethan pleased to still have him as our head coach. Leadership is all about making unpopular decisions.
