I'm just plain not willing to believe what his dad said until it comes from a good source. An angry father of an angry (half looney) player is not a good source.

It may be true.

But it feels like something that was put out there by someone really pissed off in order to make the accuser sound more crazy.

my prediction is that Turner falls on the sword for this. He was over his head anyway.

I think this has got to go past Turner, its too big to just isolate one coach on this fiasco. He will be one of many casualties of war in this situation.

I really hope they don't drop the bomb on Martin. Nobody wins in that situation. But based on how Steve Ross reacted to the stadium fiasco, I could see him going nuclear on this.

I really hope they don't drop the bomb on Martin. Nobody wins in that situation. But based on how Steve Ross reacted to the stadium fiasco, I could see him going nuclear on this.

With the way Martin is destroying the organization -- keeping personal VM and Texts for 7 months or longer, plotting this out, stringing info to media types that hate the Phins, etc. -- it would be hard to blame Ross for fighting fire w. fire.

Martin is damaged goods, big time. He's playing this for all its worth, trying it in the media and out of context, in order to shape the narrative for his own gain. All that personal info he's feeding to Shefter -- wow. Not the way to go about it, either. Martin's going nuclear like a rogue suitcase nuke traveling the country. Ross just may send in the ICBMs.

Racism, and bullying are two subjects the media loves to talk about because of the emotions they evoke from people, the early reports are just that, media bull****. The truth will come out, and the best guess is Martin was harboring serious mental health issues that were known by many in the organization. I suspect a lot of heads will roll...bad for our team for sure.

Let me preface with this: I'm on Martin's side until someone proves I shouldn't be. Like you, I think he's in an unnecessarily lawyered up state.

However, if the Phins have proof that Martin is manipulating the news cycle and destroying people for personal gain: I say go full force and destroy him.

The sad fact is that most corporations pay to make harassment situations go away. Between cog's dad and the evolving JM narrative, I think that is not an option.

On the flip side, if the narrative right now is correct and is the tip of the iceberg (who knew what when?) then Ross needs to destroy the people who looked the other way. Fire them with cause. Make the evidence public. Get a full disclosure vibe going... for once.

I don't agree with that. I don't think there are any winning approaches here, and destroying even more people doesn't really accomplish anything. At this point it should be about getting this thing to go away as quickly and quietly as possible, even if my read on the situation is accurate and Martin's agent and parents decided to go nuclear over recouping his salary and essentially bombed the entire Dolphins franchise over it.

They may be smart people, but this thing is now out of their control. This gets as ugly as Steve Ross wants it to get, and the whole stadium vote deal is pretty compelling evidence that Steve Ross doesn't mind ugly.
