Rookie wide receiver Patrick Turner had another positive practice both running routes and catching passes as well as in drills designed to work on his blocking skills. During one drill working on downfield blocking, Turner stood up cornerback Jason Allen and actually lifted Allen's feet off of the ground for a brief moment, and earlier he flashed impressive speed on a deep route during on-on-ones.

looks like all the technique teaching finally pays off for Allen

the lightbulb must have come on with patrick turner. i saw nothing to get excited about predraft with him.

sounds like we may have got us a stud wr for the future.

I hope (and suspect) that a time will come mid-season when I'll be hunting around for the video clip of both the ESPN draft bozos' pissy-fits over the Turner selection.

Good Pat Turner news. Poor Jason Allen. I think he finally gets the axe this year.

wow, maybe Turner isnt the "damn, the giants stole Barden from us" consolation prize after all.

i love a FO that knows what theyre doing. its been so long.

He has prototype size, speed and quickness. I don't see how it can be anything but mental, from a lack of instincts to a lack of intelligence or a lack of ability/desire to learn and take coaching. I read that he continuously falls into bad habits and therefore does not improve. If he doesn't show significant imrovement this pre season we should just get rid of him. It kind of makes me sick, what a waste.

seriously, good plays at the expense of Jason Allen don't count

Hahah. From now on we just have to toss them out.

I think Patrick Turner, Davone Bess and Lex Hilliard need to take JA out for lunch or something.

Omar clarified and evidently Hilliard trucked over Allen while Bess was drive blocking him, so it wasn't as bad as initially thought. Nonetheless, JA is making everyone look great.

He never was. Turner was always their target. Ireland went into some detailed pseudo-sciencey explanation of why he liked him, which had something to do with his long, skinny torso and the fact that the distance between his hip and knee is shorter than you would expect on a 6'5" guy, which helps him be as agile as a shorter player.

Ive probably held out more hope for that guy then anyone on this board (even almost bought his jersey mid rookie season:whew!:) but im thinking the sooner we get that 1st round contract off the team the better.
