Just finished doing a little research for this thread. When Don Shula became the coach of the Dolphins in 1970, he was blessed in already having on his roster Bob Griese, Larry Czonka, Mercury Morris, and Nick Buoniconti just to name a few. With all of this talent already in place, Shula was able to generate a 10-4 winning record his first season. Fast forward to today, who does Nick Saban have? Not near the diversified talent that Shula had. I read the discontent that DolFans are expressing and it bothers me. Miami has a long tradition of winning and now that things aren't where they used to be, the fans are complaining. We've been spoiled and don't know the "hardship" of a losing season (except ONE in 1988). We've never had to experience the rebuilding of a team. pateince...faith...loyalty. If we demonstrate these qualities, it will rub off on the players, those that we have and those we've yet to obtain and then we will be back on track to our winning ways
