In 2000 we were 8-2 at this point in the season.
In 2001 we were 7-3 at this point in the season.
In neither case did the better record help us do anything in the playoffs. If indeed Ray Lucas has "settled down" or "found himself" as writers and fans suggest (still doubtful in my mind, I openly predicted that we'd manage to win one against either Baltimore, San Diego, or Buffalo while Jay Fiedler recovers...despite Ray Lucas) then we have more reason to be hopeful maybe, than either the 8-2 or the 7-3 teams were.
Did we see a brand new Lucas out there? A guy that is ready to direct this team? Or was it an abberation.
At home against San Diego will go a long way in telling us the answer to that question...
