good news my fellow members! it seems like we are in position to get a 4th/5th rd pick for greenwood and a 6th for sammy. would love a 4th honestly and use it maybe for trade sitautions anways it is for conditional picsk or wahtever, not sure how it works but i believe its when u a FA leaves and performs well for the other new team he is at.

I think this upcoming draft Nick will trade down to acquire more picks if the players he wants are still there, and increase the picks that way.
 
The compensatory picks are hard to explain and, in my opinion, should be done away with. That said, the system takes into account the number of free agents lost and brought in, salaries etc. So I think it will be hard for Miami to get picks considering Saban signed quite a few players, but we'll see.
 
yea it said at the bottom it'll i guess cancel out the pick ups of frerrote and 2 others. so i gues those 3 picks cancel the picks we will recieve?

sounds pretty logical to me, nick also has a good feel for who can really perform well or might be a hiden star because he is only 1 year removed from college coaching

It's tuff trading down multiple times these days. Remember last year? Everyone has become better at evaluating talent. The way to stockpile picks is to trade a pick or a player the year before to some desperate team (remember Philly and AJ Feeley? Remember Wade Smith and the Patsies?) :shakeno:
 
We're not getting any extra picks.But at least this time we'll have all our picks on day one unlike when Wanny was here when you could forget about our 2nd round pick everytime and the first one too a couple of times.

We won't get any compensatory picks, but I am sure Saban will pick up one through trade in the offseason. Even if it is just like a 5th or 6th rounder. He seems to be good at getting teams to give up late rounders for some of our players. He got an extra 7th rounder from Chicago for Ayanbadejo, and he almost got us a 7th from the Saints for Chatman(he didn't meet the conditions of the pick. :( ). Currently we have 7 picks:

1st rounder
2nd rounder
3rd rounder
4th rounder
7th rounder
7th rounder
7th rounder

Come draft day, I see us with about 9 picks.
