One of my long time friends lives in the rural area of Dallas, Texas and is currently a season ticket holder for them. Yesterday he called for the first time in months and we caught up a little bit. I knew he was a season ticket holder so I asked him how the game was. He told me about the game (since I was working late, we were talking on my cell phone), and he told me a great story.
Before the game he got there early with a few of his friends down there and got in the stadium early to see everyone practicing on the field. He told me there was a group of Dolphin fans there (about 8 or 9), all were wearing Teal Zach Thomas jerseys and they were holding up a large sign saying:
"ZACH, Miami still loves you no matter where you go. Your a "STAR" in more ways then one...Go get that Ring!!!"
Apparently, Zach saw the group of Phin fans while he was warming up, ran over to them and began shaking all their hands and talking to them for a good 5 mins before he went back to practicing.
I tell you what guys, that is one of the best things I have ever heard. Zach realizes he will forever be a Dolphin first, and he expresses it so well in doing things like this. I think Zach is the greatest guy ever to step on a football field. He is without a shadow of a doubt the classiest, honest, and one of the most honorable men playing today. I hope he gets that ring, and he BETTER get in the hall of fame someday cause no one deserves it more than him.
