More speculation that Mark Dominik might join front office

New Dolphins GM Dennis Hickey will apparently have the ability to hire his own personnel staff (just not the coaching staff) and there’s speculation around the league that he would consider his former boss, recently fired Bucs GM Mark Dominik.

Miami already has a very capable assistant GM in Brian Gaine, who was up for the Dolphins top job.

But if Hickey wants to bring his own guy, or Gaine wants out, Dominik could be a logical choice.

Jim Bates, the former Dolphins interim coach who was Bucs defensive coordinator in 2009, said Hickey and Dominik are very close.

“He was really a loyal person to Mark Dominik and had a real close relationship with Mark,” Bates said

I like the talent that Tampa has on its team, they have above avg group of WR, good OL, excellent backs...the D is solid with a couple of studs on the DL and LB and veteran secondary that is above average, the problem with them was coaching....I am on board with both of these guys, did they make mistakes, absolutely but so doesn't everyone else....If Ross stays out of the way these guys can get the job down, we are not that far away from competing for a championship if RT takes the next step.....
