I agree with this article. http://www.miami.com/mld/miamiherald/sports/football/14043732.htm

MORE THAN ONE QB
The Dolphins won't be in the market for only one quarterback but several this offseason. They want a starting-caliber player, a veteran backup to replace Frerotte and likely a young player they can groom for the future.
Under the right circumstance, the team could carry as many as four quarterbacks next season.
Among the veterans who might draw interest from Miami as a backup is former Steelers backup Tommy Maddox, who was released by the Super Bowl champions last week. Maddox is a great admirer of new Dolphins offensive coordinator Mike Mularkey from when Mularkey held the same job in Pittsburgh.

This is what needs to be done get brees or culpepper in here and a good Veteran back up. Because what if Brees or Culpepper goes down you want someone who can take over and depend on getting you a few wins in the starters absence. Would like to hear what you fellow fin fans think about that. Because All I am seeing on this site is a battle between Brees & Culpepper. Both of those QB will be upgrades so whichever QB we get we should look damn good on paper. And with a low cost Vet QB to come in if anything happens to the starter.
Super Bowl 41 bound

Well... I woul love to get Brees, and bring Patrick Ramsey as a back up. Then have Lemons as our 3r string Qb.

Totally agree, I think they go with this scenario. :dolphins: :dolphins: :dolphins:

I don't think there's anything wrong with Gus as a backup, unless he is unwilling to re-do his contract. I'd love to see the Dolphins sign Brees and then draft someone like Omar Jacobs or Brodie Croyle.

I hope we draft a mid round QB as well. His 1st year, he will be the 3rd QB so he can learn. The next year he will be the backup waiting in the wings to get his shot if the starter goes down. If all else fails, we can always use him as trade bait (ex. Schaub spl? from Atlanta and Chris Simms with the Bucs).

Unless Gus takes waaaaaay less, like about 1 million/yr, I don't anticipate him back...

I like the idea of getting both Brees and Ramsey but I have very mixed feelings about this possibilty. Ramsey probably wants to go somewhere where he might have a chance to be a starter and he would have less chance of that happening with Brees than he had in Washington with Brunnel. IMO though, I really think Ramsey needs a clean start somewhere other than Washington. He has talent and abilities but just needs a different system and environment for it to develop. I don't think I need to make a comment about Brees that hasn't been voiced by lots of others, he is a Pro-Bowl caliber quarterback. The other thing I am concerned with is with all of the needs the Dolphins have this year, (you name it theres somewhere they need it!) they will use too many precious assets (draft choices and salary cap) on quarterbacks. I trust in Saban and Mueller to do whats right but I guess I am just apprehensive due to all that went wrong in the past.
