And so it begins. I told everyone that this was going to be a big eye opener for people. Wait until the "legitimate" sports names come out. Me thinks we may be caught in a pickle with some current and former Dolphins players as well as some basketball players. Baseball will be off the charts. This really is going to be a balckeye for sports in general.

I don't think it's much of a surprise that wrestlers use steroids. That's why so many are dying early. But yeah when the "legitimate" sports stars names come out it's gonna get messy.

David Mathews Jr already signed his contract! Hes making his money regardless now!

Scott Steiner anyone??

You are not telling me anything I don't know. I grew up in the business and technically still a pro wrestler myself. Just reporting news. This thing is going to get nasty once the football names and baseball names are released.

Orton, other wrestlers linked to probe of pharmacy

Eleven professional wrestlers, including the WWE's Randy Orton, have joined the list of athletes linked to a nationwide steroids investigation.

SI.com reported Monday that Orton allegedly received eight prescriptions for six different drugs -- including stanozolol, nandrolone and testosterone -- between March 2004 and August 2004. According to the documents SI.com reviewed, two doctors whose names also appear in Gary Matthews Jr.'s file wrote prescriptions for Orton.

Orton, through the WWE, declined comment, SI.com said.

In its review of documents, SI.com reported it found Adam Copeland, a.k.a. "Edge," and Shane Helms, a.k.a. "The Hurricane," received HGH from Applied Pharmacy in Mobile, Ala., one of the pharmacies raided in the investigation led by Albany, N.Y., District Attorney David Soares.

Through the WWE, Copeland and Helms didn't respond to a request for comment, SI.com said.

WWE spokesman Gary Davis told SI.com that WWE policy prohibits performance-enhancing drugs but would not say whether any wrestlers have tested positive since the policy was enacted.

Also linked to the scandal, in various reports, are baseball's Jose Canseco, John Rocker, Jerry Hairston Jr. and David Bell, former heavyweight champion Evander Holyfield, Pittsburgh Steelers doctor Richard Rydze, 1996 Olympic wrestling gold medalist Kurt Angle and bodybuilder Victor Martinez.

Monday, SI.com also reported Arizona doctor David Wilbirt's name has come up in multiple files, including those of Angle, Oscar Gutierrez (stage name Rey Mysterio) and former WWE star Eddie Guerrero, who died in 2005.

None of the guys listed are a surprise to me except maybe Helms. I mean both Eddie Guerrero and Rey when they were in WCW were pretty small and all of a sudden they showed up in the WWE in 2002/3 and looked like monsters (compared to what they used to look like) I think everyone knew what was up.

Edge and Orton both went through some injuries (Edge especially with his neck) so I can understand why they both started taking them. Of course for the $1,000,000 look too.

I'm sure there are hundreds more that will be named soon too depending on how big this thing really is.

I don't know about all of them, but Edge was given steroids by his doctor afer he broke his neck in 2003 and he stopped.

Orton, Angle, Guerrero, and Mysterio also had some serious injuries, but Angle is linked to also getting steroids for animals, and Orton got 6 different prescriptions so I don't know about them.

thats why they all die of heart attacks. The steroids causes their hearts to be overused which is why they have the hearts of old men in these huge bodies

If you believe that, then I have a bridge to sell you in Kansas. Edge's rumored steroid use has been around for years. Even his ex wife came out and stated she saw him juicing. The guy is a roid head, much like all the others. Orton, after injuring himself and "getting well." came back and was openly and visibly mocked my McMahon on tv about how small he was (probably due to cycling off the stuff completely at that time). I am sure that sent a great message to the boys in the back though when your boss goes on worldwide TV and dresses down one of his guys for looking smaller (AKA off the juice).

Angle was and is a notorious drug abuser, and not just steroids. why do you think the WWE cut him loose? It wasn't for lack of talent. Mysterio is bigger than me and he is 5'6". Look at the guy from even five years ago to now and you can see how he has changed. Eddy Guerrero was no question as is his nephew Chavo.

Chris Masters, Brock Lesnar, Shawn Michaels, (at one point) HHH, Bob Holly, and many many more are big roid heads too.

My whole point though is this, nobody really cares about these guys. They want big names from football, baseball and basketball. In a few short weeks/months, they will get their wish.

A Statement From World Wrestling Entertainment, Inc.
March 19, 2007

All of the allegations set forth in a recent SI.com article mentioning WWE predate the initiation of WWE’s current Talent Wellness Program. This WWE program prohibits the use of performance enhancing drugs, as well as other prescription drugs which can be abused, if taken for other than a legitimate medical purpose pursuant to a valid prescription from a licensed and treating physician. For purposes of WWE's policy, prescriptions obtained over the Internet and/or from suppliers of prescription drugs from the Internet are not considered to have been given for a legitimate medical purpose

Sylstever Stallon was just caught with HGH two weeks ago. WHO CARES!!!

Wrestlers aren't pro athletes. They are entertainers in the vein of sitcom stars or movie stars. To treat them any different than you would treat Slysvester Stallon or another actor......makes no sense.
