It would also explain why Moreno was laughing off questions he is in the dog house for being out of shape.

if he needs to have it done, do it today. every day counts.
Agreed, today or at worst sometime this weekend it needs to be done. The recovery time is anywhere between 2-6 weeks, but my guess is he is probably more in the 4 week range. Training Camp starts on July 24, which is 5 weeks from yesterday.

Exactly what I was thinking as well. No way he doesn't make the team if the injury is minor.
I sure hope this is minor, else we just messed up at RB all over again this off-season. While Miller is supposedly looking really impressive in shorts, let's not forget that he's the same guy that played so luke-warm last year that me made Thomas look like a decent option. Get it done and get him healthy ASAP, as we'll need him not only to run the ball effectively, but to keep RT alive on passing downs.
Ian Rapoport said that while Moreno's knee has been bothering him, he felt better yesterday. Moreno will meet with a doctor next week to see if surgery is even necessary.
It sounds like it would just be a clean up procedure, probably something with the meniscus. Which is definitely a minor procedure.
When I was a senior in high school I tore my meniscus while running on a sand bar on the Missouri River. When I went to the doctor he told me when can either remove what was torn off or sew it back together. This was back in 1996. The recovery time was quite dramatic between the two. To just remove the portion that was torn I would be back to running cross county and playing football within a couple weeks. To sew it back together the recover time would have been 4-6 months. Being that it was my senior season and I had scholarships on the line, and knowing that I would have arthritis due to the removal, I still said lets take it out. I started at FS for my high school team 9 days after the surgery and then ran a cross county race the next day.
I have no doubt that if it is a simple clean out procedure that Moreno will be ready for training camp.
