IMHO, I think that stuff is overblown by the national media. They should be proud & possessive of the record. Why not? It's only human nature.

True...My roomate is a sports writer for our college news paper. He wanted the Patriots to loose all season. But got sick of Merc, so he wrote an article titled...Cheering for the Patriots...By Default...He didnt like Shula''s comments about Belichick cheating or any of Merc's commments.
But I think it is ESPN's fault anyways. They heard Merc on the radio back when Indy was 14 and 0. And he made the comment something like "dont call me when they are in my neighborhood call me when their on my block." ESPN paid him to come on and make more outlandish comments. Then Reebok and Merc knows he can make a bunch of cash just by saying stuff.

Before this season guys like Morris and Shula were retired old men playing golf and enjoying their daily lives. Then the patriots start making comments about them, th media starts following them around and printing every word they say, and all of a sudden these guys in their 60-70s are being harassed about something they have no control over.
So yeah, the media and and all other fans of other teams who have been dogging the 72 team all year now have to deal with the repercussions of pissing off these ol *******s. ( i mean that in a good way)
