ESPN's Chris Mortensen reported on Monday Night Countdown that Joey Porter will not play on Thursday night against the Panthers.

Mortensen also said that Porter will not play "anytime soon." Mort made the point that Porter won't play because Charlie Anderson and Cameron Wake played very well while filling in. Mortensen is well respected but this seems hard to believe at the moment. Porter should be part of the rotation.

This is sounding more and more like an insubordination issue that's a lot worse than they are letting on. I'll give him the benefit of the doubt here till we know more, but Mort's usually pretty solid with stuff like this.

Porter must have really pissed the coaches off...he must of thought it would have been hard for Anderson and Wake to "outplay" him and his stat's. lol

It's not the first time Porter has been insurbodinate as a Dolphin. He disobeyed Sparano last season when he told Porter to get off the field after a dumb personal foul penalty against the Patriots. Of course, there was the incident in 2007 when he dressed down Cam in front of the whole team. Granted, it was Cam. So, I can somewhat understand that, but it's insurbordination nonetheless.

The only value he adds to next season is if they can get a draft pick for him.

One thing you have to like about this regime is that they really don't mess around with these situations. Starts aren't guaranteed, they don't just send you out there because of loyalty. If you're struggling, you don't play. It doesn't matter who you are, a first round pick like Ted Ginn, or a pro-bowler like Joey Porter. These guys aren't playing well, so they're out of the lineup. This team will not allow itself extra liabilities. You have to love that.

I agree with the print in blue,I find it hard to believe that Porter wont play at ALL.Now not starting? Yea,I can see that, but being completely shut-out....cant see it...

He'll be back. Say what you want about Porter, i was not big on the addition when we made it. But it worked out well for us, he became a pro-bowler last year and clearly gave this team a new swagger with his vocal leadership style.

LOL @ all you guys who want props on this site for callin it like YOU see it but when someone on the team does the same you cry like your puppy dog died....now your gonna say that he hasn't done anything this year...I'll give you that....but I bet if someone dug up old posts you same hipocrites were swinging from his sack last year....this place is becoming a joke....ya'll badmouth the team when there down....u cry it's not good enough when there up.....go root for someone else!!!!
