Mort: Ross, Ireland, Peterson all have diff ideas about coach

and what is so great about chud???

not asking as if their is not, but does anyone really know? He is just a finheaven guy who keeps getting tossed around. thats all. if he were so wanted, he would be taken already.
For me, it's all about his mindset. He doesn't just want to win games, he wants to put teams away. He's also creative and very good with QBs. Dude got Derek Anderson to a Pro Bowl for ****'s sake.

Honestly the fact that anyone would make a even a small issue about this has never worked with other ppl before. Even the BEST situations have ppl having different ideas about how to move forward.

The way some of you are pushed around like sheep is becoming sadder by the day.

Peterson traded a draft pick for Herm Edwards....maybe if we listen to Peterson he'll widen the search and bring back Herm Edwards

In fairness to Peterson, he had a long-standing relationship with Edwards. He drafted him when he worked for the Eagles back in the day. Peterson gets ripped, but let's face facts. He was integral in building that Eagles team that Vermeil took to the Super Bowl. Built the most successful USFL team, the Stars, that won 2 USFL championships. He had one of the highest winning percentages, ever, for a GM while with the Chiefs. He hired Schottenheimer and Vermeil in KC to great success. Gave Cowher, Tony Dungy and Mike Carthy their first jobs. Gave Jim Mora, Sr. his first HC job. I'd cut off my left arm if the Dolphins could be anywhere near as successful under a new coach. The truth is Peterson's track record on coaches is rather extraordinary.

If Ross doesn't trust Ireland, then why the hell did he retain him? The French philosopher Sartre once said a man gets the kind of advice a man seeks. Ross knew what sort of candidates Ireland was likely to recommend before he decided not to fire him. A tiger doesn't change his stripes. Ireland is a Parcells protege. He's going to reflect that style of football. It would be difficult for him to go in another direction even if he wanted to. It would be like a protege of Bill Walsh morphing into Wannstadt. Not likely to happen.
